There are so many methods. Different schools and different people emphasize different ways. Most will tell you meditation. Even within meditation there are so many ways. Some will strive - by "trying" to NOT strive?!?!? - to have no thoughts at all. I take this to mean no mental activity whatsoever. But I'm honestly not sure just what is meant by no thoughts. No thinking. Many people meditate on objects, breath, sensations, an idea etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam. The Buddha himself suggested many things to meditate on. In India, many centuries ago, there was a "dialectic school" who thought, it seems, a lot. And I've heard that this was very very effective. I don't know if there is anyone doing this these days. How DO Buddhists calm their minds? I myself am not calm! Troy Even muddy water when allowed to sit still will eventually clear. One method is by what is termed eka-kara-samadhi-cittassa. This is a meditation in which the mind (citta) is made (kara) singular or one-pointed (eka). This making singular causes the meditation (samadhi). It is assumed that this world and our inner being are a spiritual density-a phenomenal fog if you like. By making the mind singular one connects directly with the element of ultimate reality which is non-phenomenal. What occurs shortly afterward is the experience of being engulfed by a radiant clear light which is extraordinarily powerful and blissful. All our fears suddenly disappear. We realize that this radiant clear light is who we really are so that even the fear of death vanishes. Answer by meditating..
Buddhists believe that people are generally happy and at peace by nature. It is when people let desire for "more" enter their lives that they become unhappy. To be happy a person only has to open themselves to their natural self.

Buddhists feel that all living things are connected, and that ignorance is what spurns hate, greed and aversion. For Buddhists the only way to find spiritual delight is aspire to peace.
Nirvana. They believe that it is achieved by taking the eight-fold path.
I believe it was neither. I believe it was peace and suffering.
Yes, they want peace and happiness.
they believe in peace alotAnswer:The basic Buddhist beliefs are summed up in the Four Noble Truths:All life is marked by sufferingAll suffering is caused by desireThere is an end to sufferingThe way to that end is the Eightfold Path
Buddhism has a number of rich and varied traditions but from my own perspective the place of peace is our own mind when we stop all attachment and aversion. Hope this helps Steve
I believe it is Buddhism, they believe that everlasting peace (Nirvana) could be achieved by leading life the simplest way, and I think like some other things like begging (for they believe that it is like lowering yourself or something) and yeah, so basically you have to be really simple and I think like meditate.
Typically it is true that people who love peace are against violence. People that believe that the world should be full of peace of love do not believe in wars or violence.
Accept Christ as your Saviour and believe in Him and He will give thee peace and make you happy.

Generally we prefer peace and believe wars should be avoided, most Buddhists are opposed to war as am i, however some wars have been neccessary. I am a veteran, though I did not fight in any war. There are many Buddhist veterans from the U.S and many other places.
