How do you get your book considered for an oprahs book club book?

I would like to contribute for discussion and answer how to get my book submitted to Oprah's book club. I have taken a quiz on the net and my points added up concerning TV spots, newspaper articiles, and notoriety to the public at large. My book is considered historical fiction/romance and is based on family members just prior to the Civil War and I have been told by my publisher that the best quality of my books are the characters who become alive and real. Once you are introduced to them, you do not want to leave them. Therefore, it has become a four book series that is being considered for Television miniseries. If I could find an open door I would walk through it and consider the books worthy of recognition as well as family entertainment and containing nothing vulgar or unseemly for the entire family. They don't just let people send mail in (as you have probably found out). They choose an already published book, have an understaff member read it and summarise for them, get an expert to write out an evaluation, and rehearse what they will say. Then they film it.

Oprah's book club does not accept submissions.

A: Oprah's Book Club is unlike any other in the way that Oprah Winfrey picks the books on her own. That being the case, we don't accept submissions from authors--but we deeply appreciate all the authors who are interested in being a part of our book club and all the hard work they dedicate to their art.

Your agent has to submit it - that is part of their job.

You need to send the book to Oprah. You can contact one of her producers, which the contact names can be found on her website.

what you do is send it to her in mail you can call the operator and they will give you her number and then you can give her your book. :) good luck

I usually buy the books on the internet , I can have a lot of different choices and I can buy it in a very short time .
