My other half gave me their old Android phone (Galaxy Exhibit 2), but I don't know how this thing works. How do I take a downloaded document from the downloads folder and put it on my desktop, so it's right there when I turn the screen on?
You click and drag.
on the desktop
Answer: True - yes the document which you save on the desktop is saved on the hard drive. Unless you're saving the document on an external hard drive, USB, or CD, it would be saved on the hard drive. (wow!)
desktop publishing
A procedural document may be called a process document or desktop procedure.
2 inches
The answer is: Desktop Publishing
It takes up space each time you save a document or anything.
When you close a document it means that its window is removed from a desktop and the file is no longer in the computer's memory.
Document layout is facilitated by nonprinting guidelines and underlying document grids.
The difference between application-centric approach and document-centric approach is that with application-centric approach you open an application (such as notepad) and then create a document. With document-centric approach you create a document without opening an application first. You can create a document from the desktop by right clicking on the desktop, then click on New. On the submenu click on text document (or whichever command you choose).
It's a desktop :)
A metaphor is the application of one thing related to a domain to another domain, so, the desktop metaphor in a GUI is the representation of the GUI as a desktop, while the GUI itself is not a desktop. Indeed, using the metaphor of a desktop, we can assume that we can put things over the desktop, we can have a recycle bin and a document folder connected to our desktop and so on.
