My other half gave me their old Android phone (Galaxy Exhibit 2), but I don't know how this thing works. How do I take a downloaded document from the downloads folder and put it on my desktop, so it's right there when I turn the screen on?

The difference between application-centric approach and document-centric approach is that with application-centric approach you open an application (such as notepad) and then create a document. With document-centric approach you create a document without opening an application first. You can create a document from the desktop by right clicking on the desktop, then click on New.
