They crawl on their hands and knees, reaching one hand ahead of them so they don't bang their heads. They develop big callouses on their knees, and eventually their toes fall off from lack of use. Most blind people only stand up when there are people around, otherwise they're on their hands and knees because it's safer. Don't ever ask about it though, because they'll just deny it and tell you that they use things like white canes to tap ahead and make sure they don't miss a step, or fall into a hole, or bump into a wall.

That can't be true... I mean, why would the cane have to be white anyway - it certainly doesn't tap any better than a black one! You know what, I'll bet they just use white ones to be noticed! Yeah, that's what it's all about, being noticed. They'll even try to tell you they make clicking noises with their tongue or snapping their fingers to navigate by the echo off surrounding objects - but that's stuff they just make up to fool you! Everybody knows you can't use echo location to find things, I mean, think about this, how stupid do they think we are? Next they'll try to tell you that submarines and ships really use the same techniques, only they call it Sonar; c'mon, it's all a big trick to make you feel insecure, and begin to believe that maybe they can get around more than you think they can. That's pretty snaeky eh?

Some blind people will even tell you they have special dogs which are trained to stop at street corners, to prevent them from walking into traffic, and to guide them around objects, but don't believe it; I think they just want to have their dogs with them to get them into the movies and on buses because you're not supposed to do that, and they like breaking the law - I mean, whoever heard of dogs being able to guide people? Weird huh? Who'd want to believe a thing like that? I'm not stupid.. somebody once told me there're dogs trained to smell out dope and stuff, but dogs aren't smart, I don't believe it, they haven't found my stash yet... people like me're smart, not dogs. Anyway, forget what I said about my stash, OK?

As you can see, blind people must be pretty much a bunch of rebels who want to try to mislead you in all kinds of ways... that's why you should never think of treating them like ordinary people. in fact, if you started to talk to 'em, and ask things, and let them tell you stuff, you might even start to think they're the ones who really see, and it's you who is pretty much blind... Geez!
