basic idea of movement of a car, is pretty simple. Easiest and most general way to explain is. The motor of the car produces power, that is delivered to your transmission, which in turn tranfers that power through a drive shaft (in the case of a rear wheel drive car) or directly to the axles (in a front wheel drive car) then to the wheels of the car to produce movement. The transmission in general controls the forward and reverse direction of the car. Hopefully this helps!
