First you have to go inside your router .
To do that , please type in the explorer bar 192.168.1.1
Press the "Enter" key
When prompted type "admin" for username and "admin" or "1234" for password
Press "Enter" again
Once you got inside the router, search for Network configuration and Subnet Mask. Change the number of Subnet Mask.
Press "Apply"+ "OK"
You may need to restart this PC in order to get the new Subnet Mask assigned.
To find out the current network mask, and assuming you have a Windows computer, either go to network properties, select "TCP/IP", and select it there (doesn't show the information if set to get address automatically), or open a command window and type "ipconfig".
On windows, go to start -> run -> cmd (hit enter)
type ipconfig /all
On *nix (at the command line) type ifconfig -a
The no. of IP's that can be assigned to single computer depends on the subnet mask. if the subnet mask is of A class then the IP's assigned can be 16777216. If the subnet mask is of B class then the no. of IP's that can be assigned is 65536. And if the subnet mask is of C class then the IP's assigned can be 254.
The correct term is subnet mask instead of subnet mass. A subnet mask separates an IP address into the host address and the network address. It is a 32-bit number that can mask an IP address.
what is the subnet mask for this hst IP prefix format ? Host IP Address: 183.91.104.16
Because each IP defines certain subnet mask.
255.255.255.0
There is no set subnet mask for different ip configurations. The most common default subnet mask is 255:255:255:0 though, if that helps.
Subnet mask for the above is 255.0.0.0
if the ip address is 192.168.2.1 then the subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0
This is a network address
255.255.255.0
255.255.255.0
Example IP address of 192.168.1.123 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
