That's about right. Extra carbon dioxide and methane emissions are disrupting the balance of the carbon cycle, polluting the normal atmosphere, if you like. These added greenhouse gases capture more heat, because the carbon cycle can't get rid of them. The extra heat is causing global warming.

Additional levels of greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide and methane, are causing global warming and climate change. Any emissions of these gases caused by human activity is classed as pollution.

Briefly:

Greenhouse gases capture heat rising from the earth. This warms the atmosphere and also the earth.

In more detail:

The Earth receives energy from the Sun mostly in the form of visible light and nearby wavelengths. About 50% of the sun's energy is absorbed at the Earth's surface. Like all bodies with a temperature above absolute zero, the Earth's surface radiates energy in the infrared range.

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere absorb most of the infrared radiation emitted by the surface and pass the absorbed heat to other atmospheric gases through molecular collisions. The greenhouse gases also radiate in the infrared range. Radiation is emitted both upward, with part escaping to space, and downward toward Earth's surface.

The surface and lower atmosphere are warmed by the part of the energy that is radiated downward, making our life on earth possible.

Does coal cause pollution?

Yes coal causes pollution, and the carbon dioxide it emits contributes to greenhouse gases and global warming.

Why is it good to use nuclear energy?

Because it does not cause pollution by producing greenhouse gases and contributing to global warming

Will greenhouse gas effect global warming?

yes, increases in greenhouse gasses are the dominant cause of global warming.

How do greenhouse gasses impact the ozone layer?

Greenhouse gases cause global warming on earth. This global warming can cause ozone depletion.

What is the effect of ozone layer depletion due to air pollution?

The Air pollution contains greenhouse. They cause global warming. It causes ozone depletion.

What gases cause global warming and how?

Greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide and methane, mostly) cause global warming by increasing their levels in the atmosphere. This turns the benign greenhouse effect into an accelerated greenhouse effect which is causing global warming.

Why is car pollution bad for the ozone layer?

Car pollution is bad for ozone. It releases greenhouse gases, which cause global warming and thus ozone depletion.

What is the name that gives gases that trap heat and cause global warming?

Greenhouse gasses are the cause of Global Warming.

Is global warming different from pollution?

Yes, pollution is the cause, and global warming is the result. Carbon dioxide pollution from the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), as well as methane from bad agricultural practices, are the two main greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. They capture the heat rising from the surface of the earth. This causes global warming.

What does carbon dioxide pollution cause?

Global warming.

How much has the air polluted because of global warming?

None. Global warming does not cause pollution. In fact, it is the other way round. Carbon dioxide pollution is causing global warming.

What do fossil fuels do to earth?

They cause pollution and they cause global warming
