both my brother and sister are teachers in Florida. Teachers there, have the option of getting paid on a 9 month salary or 12 month salary. hence, if you get paid on a 9 month salary, you get more in your paycheck, but don't collect any paycheck over the summer months.
A teacher who is full time, salaried, and under contract does not and cannot collect unemployment for the summer months.
Teacher's only get paid for 10 months, it is a 10 month contract, if they want they can have their checks equalized and get a check for 12 months. They do not get paid for 12 months, this is a misconception. Every year we have to apply for our jobs, only those grandfathered are on continuous contracts.
actually no. private schools do not get funding from the government and although the tuition is high, that money goes toward the school's electricity, water etc. public school teachers get higher pay because public schools get much more money from the government
School Counselors at public schools in the state of Washington are paid on the same scale that teachers are in Washington State.

It depends on your classification whether you are assessed as a Teacher I, II, III and the year in which you start to work in the Public Service will determine the range you are paid in. There salary paid is different for Primary School teachers and secondary school teachers. The average salary for a teacher in primary school currently is $6200 and secondary school $7200
