Many stories depict the wolf as some sort of malicious demon, and some make the wolf a trickster like your typical fox story, Some make the wolf out to be a warrior, and others depict the wolf as a sort of wise guide creature.
If the tale is European, forexample the wolf is most likely going to be the "bad guy" or the strong warrior, but in Mongolian stories, the wolves are held as near god-like creatures in stories and tend to be good luck.
