Before you go for any job interview, it's a good idea to think about what sorts of questions they might ask. This is a typical question you might get, so you should think of a short answer that summarizes your best points. You should be able to answer in less than five minutes - usually one or two minutes will be plenty. Have your parents or friends help you rehearse some sample interview questions so you will be comfortable answering in the real interview! An example of a "Tell me about yourself" could be the following - I'm a junior in West End High School, and play saxophone in the band. I'm in the drama club, and have been in a couple of school plays. I like meeting and talking to other people, and am looking for a job where I can use my people skills. I make pretty good grades, and plan to go to Eastern College for Fine Arts. I think I'm a good listener - all my friends come to me when they need advice, and I like helping. My hobbies are nature photography and music. I really would like this job because I shop at this store a lot, and I think I know where everything is already - plus, I think Northern Hobby Shop has better quality merchandise!

When a prospective employer asks that question they want you to give them this type of info.: Do you get along with people well? Are you A dependable person? Are you punctual? Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years? Where do you place your job in your life compared to things like hobbies and other responsibilities? What are you looking for in the job?
