How do you be a jedi hero on Star Wars battlefront 1?

You can not because in Star Wars Battlefront I there are no playable Jedi or Sith as it isn't part of the game you can only play with soldiers, droids etc. However its successor Battlefront II allows you to play with Sith and Jedi (I have got it and its pretty amazing stuff). My advice would be to get that if you want to play as a hero or villain.

Jedi are considered "heroes" and the heroes are only available in certain levels. When a hero is available on a level, you need to accumulate a certain number of points before you'll get the chance to play as a hero or Jedi.

The Jedi Player Mode was not introduced until Battle Front 2, so you cannot play as a Jedi in BF1. But, there is a setting where Jedi can be set on the battlefield as computer controlled characters.

In Star Wars Battlefronts 1 you cannot play as a jedi, if you wanna play as jedi, you have to buy or download Star Wars Battlefronts 2.

In story mode you have to play through story mode then it should let you play as the special character of that level. but you can, in conquest, play as all heros

You cannot play as a Jedi in Battlefront 1, they are only AI-controlled. However, you CAN play as a Jedi and other heroes in Battlefront 2.
