In harvest moon ds how do you use the legendary sword?

The SPACEBAR swings the swords, but there is a maximum rate so clicking fast won't help. When you first get the Rusty Sword, your sword menu will appear. You can add swords that you have from other islands, or from costumes bought in the Store. These swords will have 3-star power instead of the Rusty Sword's 2-stars.

Only paid monthly members can play the full game, and will receive the 4-star sword "The Bolt" when they defeat the Second Boss.

Legendary Swords was a *Membership Only Game* originally played by non-members as a demo. It was the first in a planned series of robot fighting mini-games on Poptropica. It was available in the Poptropica store beginning on November 11, 2011. The object of the game is to use your sword to battle enemy robots, defeating all of the robots and their boss robots, while not being completely injured by their attacks. The player can use the first of the "legendary swords" provided, but is better off using a sword obtained as part of a costume from the Store. Players can repeat portions that they fail until they eventually succeed. *You could only complete the game as a paid monthly member.

UPDATE - The game no longer appears in the Poptropica store as of mid-2012, so its status as a series is unclear. Those members who obtained the game card can play the game from their store items.

Beginning the Game - Space flight and the Cave

1) Your avatar flies from the planet Poptropica in a small spaceship, passing planets that exist on Astro Knights Island. A new planet appears to have disturbances occurring, and the spaceship lands there.

2) Leave the ship and climb to the right to enter the cave. You will see unicorns and birds fleeing the area.

3) Enter the cave, go down, then right, then climb the central platforms and go right again. (Some bats will fly by you.) At this point you cannot go back.

4) Drop down to reach the Legendary Sword, a rusty relic embedded in a crystal. Pull it loose and a sword menu will appear. The rusty sword only has a power rating of 2 stars. Use any sword you have from the islands, or the Store, or buy one with credits, and it will have 3 stars.

4) Farther right is the first cluster of Health Crystals, which allow you to recover from battle injuries that reduce your health. (If it goes all the way down, you lose and must restart that part of the quest.) Use the spacebar to swing your sword at the cluster until all 5 of the crystals are in your total at the top. Clicking the crystal icon will restore some of your health, and a full bar's worth is about 5 crystals. Robot attacks can cause you varying degrees of health loss. You will likely need several crystals to defeat each of the boss robots.

*Bonus Item : climb up the middle and go right, past the cave drawings, to find the Skull Mask.

5) Climb to the right and you will be attacked by 2 of a group of robot bats. They will injure you slightly and you may use (not required) one or more crystals to recover health. Exit the cave at upper right.

Section 1 - Attacking Robots - FITErs, Lasers, and Missile Dogs

6) You encounter some robots that are occupying the planet. From the written description on the scene, the robots seem to have a plan to conquer planet Poptropica (led by their mysterious ruler E.Vile)

7) The first 2 robots will see you and attack. Use your sword repeatedly to break them apart. If you do not hit them continuously, they will flash the word "GRRR" and "FITE" on their heads and will attack and injure you. Keeping "OUCH" displayed will let you beat them without getting hurt.

8) Continue right and you will encounter a Laser robot. If it is not hit quickly enough, its target eye will change from red to black and it will eventually fire a laser in one direction. Keep hitting it, or Dodge the lasers by jumping up.

9) Farther right, there are two more FITEs, one low and one high (by their E flag). Destroy these two as well, and watch your health level.

10) Jump down and fight one more FITE and a laser. If you can get them close together, you can hit both at once. You will find more Health Crystals here.

11) Heading right, you find two Laser robots, one farther down. Destroy these and head right to meet the binocular-eyed "Missile Dogs."

12) You can chase the Missile Dog and destroy him, and you can also block his missiles with your sword. Finish the bottom one and climb up to get the second one. Exit right to the Boss scene.

Scene 2 - Three Bosses

13) The FIRST BOSS is a wheel contraption that snorts exhaust fumes and shoots two unblockable exploding missiles. Stay behind him, and dodge the missiles when you see the targets appear on the ground. Watch your health and keep hitting him until he is finished.

*If you lose any BOSS ROUND, you can repeat the round from the point at which you entered, with the same number of crystals you had.

14) You can find another set of health crystals on the first ledge to the right.

15) Climb the sticky vines to fight the 6 laser bots that are on the hills. Some may jump down to fight you. You have to get the lower ones before the vines will let you go higher. You can get stuck if you try to jump from the top of a vine. 16) There are also Big Rocks falling from the top. You will see their shadows on the ground, but they are only dangerous if you stand still on the ledges. You will have to jump far to the left and right to find and destroy the 6 laser robots.

17) Climb up to find the SECOND BOSS, who has been throwing the rocks at you. There is another set of Health Crystals on his right side. You can attack him and easily avoid the rocks he throws. But every few hits, he will "go loony" and start flailing his arms in a circle. This is your key to run away to the left, because he will launch an attack with a Spinning Circle of Rocks that can kill you off!

18) To avoid the circle, run far to the left. Then, as the many rocks spin toward you, jump past them to the right, and resume your attack. Each time he goes loony, run left, then back right to avoid the swirling rocks. There are more health crystals to his right. Beat him and exit right. At this point you get the more powerful sword (4 star) "The Bolt."

19) THIRD BOSS - Dispatch the three robots, get the health crystals, and go right to the third boss, which has three laser eyes. These can do much damage if you get in their path. Stay above or behind the robot until you destroy it. Exit right.

Section 3 - Crawly Spiderbots

20) Head right and encounter the dangling Spiderbots. As you approach, they will drop down to attack you. Use the springy trampoline vines, and climb up the vertical vines (you can get to the tops of the tree limbs). There are three BOSS spiderbots who are not that dangerous but can go up and down to chase you. Kill all three bosses and get to the upper right, and exit.

Section 4 - Final Boss

21) As you enter the final scene, there is a huge disabled robot in a pit with two mud geysers. The red-eyed Bat robot that has been flying ahead of you enters the giant robot and reactivates it. The key to beating it is to avoid standing on the open ground, where it can pound you to pieces. Stand atop on the the geyser rocks and it will come closer. It will jump up and down and smash its two big arms down. It may repeat this 2, 3, or 4 times before it becomes vulnerable. Its mid-section will FLASH RED when you can damage it, so stay atop the geyser rock and wait. Hit it as many times as you can while it is weakened. When it begins to pound the ground, jump up to stay on the geyser rock. As soon as it flashes, attack again.

22) When you have beaten the giant robot (it ends up in its underwear), a small saucer will arrive that displays a hologram of E-Vile, who says that he is still determined to conquer Poptropica, setting the stage for future battle games in the series. Your ship arrives to pick you up.

23) You can replay the game, except for some glitches. One seems to require that you take off your sword before replaying the sword crystal scene.

24) You do not earn any credits for completing the game. You do receive a Bully Bot costume (a blue version of the FITE robots).

NOTES:

a) Glitches - the replay may cause problems with entering other islands. The spiderbots of Scene 3 do not currently reappear on the replay at all.

b) Swords - the game will detect costume swords you have, but you may need to open the island or store card for the sword. If you are playing as a member, all of the swords in the Store are available to use free. The game may default back to the Rusty Sword if you leave Poptropica and return. Use the drop down menu (which is rarely used and actually placed in the way on the screen).

Beginning the Game - scenes and actions within the game

1) When your rocket lands on the planet, go right and climb up to enter the cave.

2) Cross the first section by going down, right, and back up.

3) Drop down in the second section and pull the sword from the crystal. Replace it with a sword from your account or the Store by adding them to the drop-down sword menu.

4) Collect the health crystals by hitting them with the sword.

5) Climb up from the center to collect the Skull Mask from the cave drawing location.

6) Climb up at right, destroy the two attacking bat robots and exit the cave.

Attacking Robots - pickup and use Health Crystals to keep your health high

(* if you lose, you can restart that scene with your original number of crystals)

7) Two FITE robots - hit them continuously so that they cannot flash GRR or FITE.

8) Two Laser robots - hit them continuously or dodge when they aim and fire.

9) Destroy three more FITEs and a Laser robot.

10) Destroy the two Missile Dog robots.

11) Dodge the missiles and his head attacks as you destroy the First Boss.

12) Climb the sticky vines and destroy the six Laser robots.

13) Hit the Second Boss and avoid the rocks he throws. Each time he gets excited, run left as the spinning barrage starts. Run back right quickly to duck through them and resume your attack. You earn the Bolt Sword.

14) Jump clear before the Third Boss fires his triple lasers. Stay behind him.

Spider Robots

15) Step forward slowly to get them to drop, then destroy them. Use the tightrope vines to bounce upward, and climb the vertical vines to the top of each limb.

16) The three Boss spiderbots will go up and down to attack you. Destroy them as you climb. Exit at the upper right.

Final Boss

17) Jump atop the geyser rocks, and stay on them when the robot jumps and pounds the ground. You cannot be hit on the geyser rocks. When the midsection of the robot flashes red, hit it as many times as you can. The giant robot can jump up and pound the ground 2, 3, or 4 times in a row before it becomes vulnerable.

18) Replaying the game may present glitches (spiderbots seem to be missing)

equip the sword and walk up to the large boulders by the waterfall and press A to break them. other than that, its pretty useless, except for cutting weeds one at a time.

To beat it you have to be a member. Throughout the demo, you just have to find the sword in the cave and kill all the robots.
