You need two people. One pumps and then holds down the clutch. While the other releases the air from the fluid line under the vehicle. The most common place to do this is the slave cylinder valve. Make sure you keep the master full of fluid and closed when bleeding or it can suck in air. Pump and hold down the clutch peddle while the other opens the valve to let out the air. Make sure you keep the clutch down until the valve is closed again or it will also suck air. Repeat this until there is no longer any air escaping when the valve is opened.

You replaced the master and slave cylinder for your clutch on your Nissan 240 sx and there is no pressure?

did you bleed it? try raising it from the differential to get a good bleed on your clutch. and if that doesn't work make sure the rod from the pedal to the actual master cylinder is screwed on. if it isn't, ur jsut kicking a pedal.

Where and how do you adjust the clutch on a 94 escort?

The clutch can't be adjusted. It is an hydraulic clutch. The clutch pedal sends pressure from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder on the clutch. IF you are having trouble with it the thing to do is bleed the air out at the slave cylinder. Have an assistant pump the clutch and hold it to the floor. Then open the bleed valve on the slave cylinder to let the air out of the system. On the final bleed hold the clutch to the floor and close the bleed valve on the slave cylinder. The clutch master cylinder operates of the brake fluid reservoir. Make sure you keep this full of brake fluid as you bleed the clutch.

What is wrong with your clutch system if you just changed the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder and your clutch pedal wont engage the slave cylinder?

If you allowed the master/reservoir to drain empty while the line was disconnected or installed the master dry, you may have to remove the master and bench bleed it first. Always keep the reservoir full during the process.

What if your clutch on your 85 Toyota corolla goes to the floor and is hard to shift?

There are two normal causes. The clutch is worn out or there is a leak in the hydraulic clutch slave or master cylinder. To check the clutch, press the clutch slave cylinder down. If the clutch slave cylinder bellows compresses down to the slave cylinder, the clutch is worn out. Check the clutch master cylinder fluid level. if this is low, then the clutch cylinder need to be checked. To check for a hydraulic leak in the clutch slave cylinder, remove the cylinder's bellows and check for any fluid. If fluid is present, rebuild or replace the cylinder and bleed the system. To check the clutch master cylinder, check the back the of clutch master cylinder for leaks. If fluid is present, replace or rebuild clutch master cylinder and bleed the system. In my experience, hydraulic leaks occur at the clutch slave cylinder.

Why does your 1986 Nissan pick up it leaks the clutch oil by the transmission?

Is the leak coming from your slave cylinder,it has two bolts holding it on,with a rubber cover,if so ,you need to replace and bleed it and your clutch damper, its on the left side of fire wall, just follow your clutch line from clutch master cylinder,20.00 for slave cylinder.,
