You first need to have a CD burner in the computer. Then, you need to start whatever CD burning software came with the burner. Roxio EZ CD Creator and Ahead Nero are the two most common programs to use, and both of these in their newest versions are super simple to use. They will usually pop up a window asking what type of disc you want to burn - a data disc for use in a computer, or an audio disc for use in a CD player. Follow the instructions to add your files, then choose the Burn option from the program.
To burn a CD,
1. Insert a blank CD into your computer and wait for the CD dialogue box to pop up
2. Click open to view files to ensure that CD is empty and ready for new files
3. Choose the software to use for burning CD e.g Windows Media, Nero Burner, Quicktime pro, LG Power tools etc
4. Initiate burn new CD from software
5. Locate the music or other files to burn to inserted CD
6. Add the located files to the chosen burning software
7. Click on "start burn", "create CD" or any other instruction displayed on the software
8. Follow the instructions displayed
9. Wait for the eject instruction before you eject CD
You are through burning your new CD
One way is to go to Windows Media, click burn and put on the songs you want. Another way is to use specialized software such as Nero or even an open source solution. You just need to have a CD/DVD burner installed in your computer, blank CDs, your music/files, and the software to create CDs.
Well if you have a CD burner and a CD reader, you can do something that is called "copying on the fly" (all this means is that the CD reader reads the information and at the exact same time that the CD writer is writing it)
To do this, you need to buy a program called CloneCD, made by slysoft.
go to www.slysoft.com and click on CloneCD and then click buy now.
After installing the program, open it and click on the Image that says Copy CD (it might be different now because I have an old version)
THen select your CD reader and your CD writer (choose to write at 1x for best quality.)
The other way to do it (but is more time consuming and may not work if the CD is really big)
is to import the CD into a music player such as Windows Media Player (for windows) or iTunes (for windows or mac)
Insert the Cd and the media player should jump to a "playlist" with all the CD tracks in it. Make a new playlist to save these tracks to (which makes it a lot easier if using Itunes)
After selecting all the tracks and putting them into the newly-created playlist, click burn disk.
NOTE: For Windows Media Player 11, select the burn tab at the top and drag the files you want into the box on the right.
well you need software to burn CD-ROM to a disk. You buy that software any software that burns CD-ROM to a disk or you download one. Downloading one is going take ages to find a free one so i think you should one from a computer store.
Depending on what type of music player you have, most come with a feature called "Ripping a CD". Once you follow directions on how to rip a Cd to your computer it will create the audio files off you CD into MP3's and place them in the folder of your choice. If you have never used this feature before then you can go to the HELP function of your program and type in "Rip CD".

A computer CD burner is, at a basic level, a laser diode. Just like a light bulb, these diodes can burn out.
A computer may decline a request to burn a copied CD because the CD has scratches that may lead to read errors. When a computer cannot read the content of a CD, it cannot complete the burning process.
That's a definite maybe. You need to have a CD R/W (reader/writer) to burn CDs. A DVD R/W will burn CDs for you. If it can burn movies, it can burn audio.
