First assume the ratio of plaster is 1:4 (1 cement and 4 sand)
now we have to plaster the wall having area of 100 sft assume the thickness of plaster 0.5 inches.
first convert thickness in to feet so 0.5/12 = 0.0416
now to calculate the material use in cft so 100 sft x 0.0416 = 4.16 cft
so we required 4.16 cft material to complete the plaster multiply it by dry factor 1.5
4.16 x 1.5 = 6.24 cft
to calculate cement 6.24/(1+4) = 1.24 cft
1 cement bag volume 1.25 cft so calculate no of bags 1.24/1.25 = 1 bag
to calculate sand
(6.24/(1+4)) x 4 = 4.99 cft

You will need about a bag of cement for this project. You will also need around 0.15 cu.m of sand.

The type of sand is also important. The right ratio for a mixture of cement and sand is 1:5 to 1:6
Dear Friend, calculate the volume of the silo ie., nothing but the capacity you required.
Cement is not used for plastering, plaster is used for this.

Seven parts washed grit sand to one part cement. The grit gives it it's strength. If you use building/plastering sand it will crack.

A thickness of 10-12mm is used for the plastering and a mix ratio of (1:4) cement and fine sand is used well finished with a wooden float.
After a brick wall has been erected it is required to finish it well. So , a mixture of cement( usually portland) , water and fine sand is applied in required consistency. However , paints do not hold fast on them, so a layer of thin white cement(called PUTTY in INDIA),is also applied. Putty cannot be applied directly on brick walls.
Solid plastering is the occupation of covering surfaces and producing a finish ready for painting. There are several methods including but not limited to; Sand Finish - cement based product that is "floated" then "sponged" to produce a flat and sandy finish
cement, mainly used for brick work or plastering. can also be used to describe mud plaster
