Define thin. Relative to other layers of the earth (mantle, inner core, outer core) it is extremely thin. However, it is thicker than oceanic crust by about four times (40 km vs 10 km for oceanic).

Earth's crust is made of sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneousrock. The continental crust is composed primarily of granitic rockand can be up to 45 miles thick. The oceanic crust is composedprimarily of basaltic rock and can be up to 6 miles thick.
Pizza dough is made with yeast so it does take a little advance planning, but it's easy to handle and can be frozen. This recipe makes enough dough for about two 12-inch pizzas. After the dough is ready all you have to do is put some tomato sauce, cheese and your favorite toppings on and put it in t…he oven.. Step 1. Sprinkle the yeast into a medium bowl containing 1 1/4 cup warm water and stir until yeast dissolves.. Step 2. Add 2 cups sifted flour and stir until blended.. Step 3. Add another 1 1/2 to 2 cups flour and blend until too stiff to stir with a spoon.. Step 4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it for 10 to 15 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. (See "How to Knead Bread Dough" in the Related eHows.). Step 5. Place the dough in another bowl greased with a small amount of oil. Turn the dough once so that the top is oiled.. Step 6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in a warm place for about 45 minutes--until the dough rises to about double its original size.. Step 7. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.. Step 8. Dump the dough back onto the floured surface and punch it down, getting rid of any bubbles. Divide the dough in half and let it rest a few minutes.. Step 9. Roll each half into a 12-inch circle, depending on your personal preference for how thick pizza crust should be. (It will puff slightly when baked.). Step 10. Transfer the dough to an oiled pizza pan or baking sheet, or, if you have a baking stone, to a cornmeal-sprinkled wooden pizza peel for transfer directly to the stone.. Step 11. Add sauce, cheese and toppings as desired. If you like, brush exposed edges of the crust with olive oil.. Step 12. Bake each pizza for 15 to 20 minutes, or until crust is nicely browned and cheese is melted.. Things You'll Need: . 1 1/4 c. warm water . 1 tsp. salt . vegetable oils or olive oil . 3 1/2 to 4 c. sifted flour . 2 packages dry yeasts . pizza pan or baking sheet . 1 1/4 c. warm water . Vegetable Oils Or Olive Oil . 3 1/2 to 4 c. sifted flour . Pizza Pan Or Baking Sheet . 1 tsp. salt . 2 packages dry yeasts . Tips & Warnings. If the water is too cold or too hot, the yeast will either not activate or be killed. "Warm" water should be about 115 degrees F - it should feel warm but not hot, rather like you were preparing a baby's bottle. (See "How to Proof Yeast" in the Related eHows.) . You can add a tablespoon or two of olive oil to the dough if you like. . To freeze the dough, form it into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and then in foil, and freeze. To defrost, put it in the refrigerator in the morning before you go to work, then take it out for an hour or two before you plan to bake. It should be room temperature when you roll it. . Possible toppings include roasted eggplant and bell peppers; sautéed onions and Kalamata olives; and wilted spinach with sun-dried tomatoes and ricotta cheese. If you like fresh basil or other herbs on your pizza, add them after the pizza comes out of the oven. (MORE)
35-40 km for continental crust, 7-10 km for oceanic. Very thinrelative to other layers of the earth.
Well, you will want to always wash as soon as possible after cooking. Do not put it in a dish washer. Do not use a scrub brush of any kind. Use a gentle wash cloth. Some people do not use soap but only really hot water when cleaning their cooking stone. If you do use soap, just use a very gentle amo…unt. You can purchase a little plastics "scraper" if you have food that does not want to come off that will safely remove any food left on your stoneware. (MORE)

Pan pizza is a pizza that is almost like a regular pizza except it is cooked in a pan, and has a thick crust, usually between 1-2 inches. (AKA "pan pizza"). Deep dish pizza is also thick but it's layered in reverse from most pizza. The crust is pressed into a pan and up the sides. Then the meats an…d cheeses are added and the whole thing is topped with sauce. (MORE)
Because the weight of the toppings, sauce and cheese prevent the rest of the dough from rising as high as it would otherwise.
because its only about 7 miles thick whereas the mantel and core are several hundred miles thick
There is crust on pizza because of the way pizza is constructed. In a traditional Neapolitan pizza the toppings are spread over a circle of dough, right up to the rim. The pizza is then baked very quickly at a high oven temperature and the base puffs up forming the golden-brown cornicione (border,… or crust) around the edge. Pizza is the classic fast food, or street food, and the method of baking produces a fairly crisp base and crust which enables a slice of pizza to be held comfortably in the hand and eaten one-handed, on the run, so to speak. Many pizza variations have developed internationally, particularly in Western countries such as the UK, US, Australia, and so on, and some are made with such ambitious topping, or such heavy topping, that it is impossible to lift and eat a slice easily with one hand; some even require a knife and fork, which rather defeats the purpose of what began as and still is a classic design for fast food. That's not pizza crust. Pizza crust: Flour, yeast, warm water, salt, olive oil. Knead. Rise. Shape. Bake. Butter could replace olive oil (even though olive oil is better for you) but what purpose would the honey serve?
Yes - just make sure that the cake pan isn't too dark, because it will burn the bottom of the pie crust. If it is very dark, cook at 20 degrees cooler temperature than the recipe asks.
A pie crust shrinks somewhat after being rolled out. This is partly due to the elastic quality of gluten in the flour. You can minimize shrinking by allowing the unbaked pie shell to "rest" after rolling out and fitting it in the pan - that is, simply let it sit for about 20 minutes before filling a…nd baking the pie. You don't actually have to use anything. It's rare that pizza sticks while cooking. If you like you could put a piece of parchment paper under it or just a light coating of oil. Those will probably only work if you are cooking the pizza in a pan. If you're cooking it on a pizza stone, you could spri…nkle a little flour instead of corn meal or use nothing. (MORE)
Perhaps you can try to butter the pan before you sticky the crust in it.
Domino's Pizza and Pizza Hut stores in the UK sell vegetarian stuffed crust pizzas. All cheese used by UK stores belonging to these chains use only vegetarian cheese. (I know employees of both stores and they have confirmed this information.)

In relation to pizza, the crust is the hard part on the very end of the pizza. It is usually just made of hard bread, but recently, in the past few years or so, can be stuffed with cheese. I hope my answer helped you!
No it is not. It is an oil in the pan that makes it crispy but they do not use anything buttery.
Brush it with garlic butter! This will give it a good flavor and golden brown color. Also, in the dough make sure to use plenty of butter to make it flaky and soft. If recipe calls for eggs, use an electric beater to whip the eggs until foamy. The air bubbles will help the dough be less dense and mo…re soft. (MORE)
Because the sauce has thermal energy in it, so the crust does not contain thermal energy .When you heat up the pizza energy is transferring from the microwave/stove into the pizza, but not the crust.
Assuming you're meaning where you've cut a large pizza to fit in the oven, you can brush the cut edges with a little olive oil to stop them burning..
Thinning of the Earth's crust is caused by the Earth's mantle heating up and expanding. As the mantle expands, large areas of the crust fall in, where they are melted.
