WPA/WEP is the encryption setting and is configured on the wireless router. The use of WEP is not recommended because it is extremely insecure. A WEP password can be cracked in a matter of minutes, or even seconds if there is enough activity on the network. Use WPA!
Generally, you type '192.168.1.1' into your browser's address box. It should ask for a password. The default password is usually 'admin' for the user-name and 'admin' for the password.
If there is a link to this, go to advanced settings and find your router's wireless setup page. There should be an option to change or set up the wireless security mode. Change it to WEP and enter the password you want. Save it and log out of your router settings.
NOTE: You will have to remember this password as you need it to connect to your router. If you forget it, you will have to completely reset your router.
After this, all network devices connecting to the network will need updated so that the password for your router is the same as the new one.
These are general instructions, and for anyone with D-link this will definitely work. Other router makes should work.
It depends on the type of router. For my example, I will use a Linksys Router, because that is what I have.
First, on a computer that is connected to the router, open the web browser and put "192.168.1.1" (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1 can be used just try another if one doesnt work) into the address bar. This should bring up a screen that asks for an ID and a password. The defaults for these are generally ID: "admin" PW: "password" without the quotes.
This will direct you to the router's configuration page. Once you are there, look for a button that says 'Wireless'. Click that, and look for a button that says 'Wireless Security'. In there should be the WEP Key information.
Of course all this assumes that you are looking for the information on your router. If it isn't yours, it is probably protected for a reason, so shame on you!
Changing the WEP Key in Vista:
1. Click Start button
2. Click Network from the right column in the start menu
3. Click Network Center from the horizontal menu bar
4. Click Reorder wireless networks
5. Double click the wireless network you wish to edit
6. Click Security tab
7. Change the encryption type and network security key
8. Click OK
well first go on to system settings on your ds then go to data then it says change from wpa to wep and you just need to click on wep.
Encryption type is defined not by OS but by type of the wireless network you are trying to connect to.
Check your wireless router's documentation on how to find its WEP key. Assumedly your PC/laptop also connect to your router, so they should have the WEP key already or else they couldn't connect.
That doesn't technically make sense - a WEP key is the password used to access an encrypted (one form of encryption at least) router. If you don't have a router, it makes no sense to ask for a WEP key - a WEP key to access what? It's like a key with no lock, the WEP key is for a router. So if there's no router, there's no point wanting a WEP key. If there is a router and you don't know the WEP key, then clearly it's someone else's router, and the encryption is precisely to stop unauthorised people using it.
A WEP Key is different on each router. No router will have the same. To find out what yours is, consult your user manual, or look at the bottom of your router, some have it printed there.
well, my friend. Everybody has there own different WEP key
If you are trying to find the wep key of a router, check the bottom of it
A wep key has nothing to do with Pokémon Pearl, it is your wireless router's password.
No. Your WEP key is the password placed on the router you are trying to access.
No The WEP key is the key used to encrypt the wireless traffic, so people can't sniff the data and see what your doing. No WEP key, no connect to the network. No router password, and you can't log into the router to modify the WEP key.
You set up the WEP key when you set up your wireless router.

The WEP key is the encryption code needed to access a wireless router.
it doesn't actually start with a wep key, you need to change this on the bt router configuration page which i am trying to find as well
