How do you change the climate control unit core for a 1987 mercedes-benz 300DSL and do you need to disassemble the dash and how with pictures to show us how for such a change?

Start below the unit at the ash tray. You"ll need a short Phillips screw driver to remove the ash tray housing. With this out, you"ll see the 2 screws on the bottom of the wood trim. Take them out, gently pull out and then down on the wooden piece that holds the climate control unit. It's just jammed under the upper part of the dash. There's a couple of pig tales of wiring on the back of the unit, just unplug the clips and pull them apart. I just pulled mine out a couple weeks ago(1986 300 SDL)
