Engin compartmet drivers side ther should be an object take the lide off and you should see your brake fluid level.
DOT 3 brake fluid.
The 1972 Ford Ranger pickup truck transmission holds 12 quarts of transmission fluid. The 1972 Ford transmission can only use a transmission fluid made for Ford transmissions.
Both sides
Check the Fluid Level. If Full You might need to check and see if the rear brake shoes need to be adjusted (tightened up) first. They usually get out of adjustment more than the front. If they are OK then check the front the same way.
Drivers side at the firewall ,big round brake booster ,with a resivor held closed by 2 u shaped coathanger clips. Take a skrewdriver and pry each one away from the lid and pour in fluid.
You will need to remove the cover from the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder. Then you'll need to use what is known as a C-clamp to drive the piston back in so you can replace the brake pads. Be sure you bleed the brake system and return the brake fluid reservoir cover.
i have a 72 nova and the left turn signal blinks faster than the right what is my problem
In the Transmission
Your question is confusing. An A/T does not use gear oil, it uses A/T fluid. Some manual transmissions do use A/T fluid but I know of A/T that uses gear oil. But the answer is the same for both manual and A/T. You add fluid at the same place you check the fluid level.
There should be a plug on the side of the trans, take it off and the fluid should be level with the bottom of the opening, I'm thinking it's on the drivers side, but not sure. Should be about 1/2 way up the side and in the middle.
