Start the engine and use a digital volt meter to test the voltage at the battery. With the engine running at idle you should read from 13.5 to 15.5 volts at the battery. Or you can simply drive to your nearest auto parts store where most of them will check the charging system for free.
Check the fusable link (wire in between the alt. and battery) to see if it's burned out. Check to see if the alternator light in dash works.
get alternator that works properly check ur alternator and ur battery one ofem is outta wack or bad wireing
check for proper belt tension, check all of your connections from the alternator and the ones on the batteryif everything check out have the battery tested, if none of this works feel free to e-mail me
as with any alternator remove the bolts holding it to the engine then it should come off easily of course removing the belt is recommended. then either replace or service the alternator. On older marks an easy way to check the alternator just hold a screwdrivers tip to the rear center of the alternator, if it sticks the alternator works. if it doesn't replace it
Alternator not working properly or not connected properly. Wherever you bought the alternator take it back and have them check to make sure it works properly. Also make sure the new battery was fully charged when you received it. HTH.
your battery could be dead or your alternator first check to make sure that the connections at the battery are tight and free of corrosion if they are corroded the go to a part store and they will have stuff to clean then with. then check the connections at the stater and make sure that they are tight. if that does not work get your car to start and disconnect the negative(black) cable on your battery. if your car dies your alternator is going bad or the connections to the alternator tighten those connections and see if it works if not take to a repiar shop and have them check the alternator and battery
Change alternator or check alternator brushes
inside the alternator. check the fusable link at the alternator and at the starter before changing the alternator.
The easiest of all ways to check if your alternator is working is. Turn your car on and disconnect the negative battery cable. If your car dies your alternator is no good. But if it stays on. the alternator is generating power. its basically your cars power plant.
Is the battery dead? Check for 12v on the main alternator cable. If no power, check for burned out fusible links between alternator and battery. You may need a wiring diagram to check further.
Check fuseable link on alternator Check fuseable link on alternator
the alternator belt could be slipping so check the belt, the wiring at the alternator could be faulty do a check with a multimeter. open the alternator and check the diodes .apply battery power and see if the rotor still spins inside the stator see current output
