If what you mean by that is it used to click but it stopped for some reason, you probably need to buy replacement buttons. The most common buttons to have this problem are the bumper buttons, the LB and RB buttons. What happened was that because of eventual wearing out or maybe you dropped it a couple of times, the bumper is not making contact with a plastic piece inside the controller anymore, causing it to squish down instead of click. This is just a natural fault with the controller, and will eventually happen to all Xbox 360 controllers. You can buy replacement part online, or fix it yourself. To do that, you need to open your controller and put in a thin piece of cardboard between the mutton and the plastic piece, to bridge the gap and make it click again.
