The only way you can do that is to buy any external HD case that has either a firewire or USB interface on the back. Install the HD in the case and use one of the two interfaces I mentioned to connect it to your laptop.

you get a external plug it in by the cable that is provided into the usb of fire wire por on your pc/mac

it is simple just connect it to the usb port in your cpu cabinet

if usb port are not found in front of cpu try in back side of cpu.

also if u are using a charging external hard drive then you have to connect it to a charging plug also.

If your old laptop is broken and you want to copy it data by removing the HDD of laptop so for that you can use EXTERNAL HDD CASE it will turn you Internal HDD to External HDD now you can use USB to transfer data to any devise.
