Go to a computer accessories shop and look for the green USB to PS2 Mouse adapter. Or you can buy it online.
See the picture at this link (check that the port matches your PC mouse port):

IMPROVED:
Please note the answer above is for converting a USB to PS2 connector, NOT USB to Serial Port.
A USB to Serial Port adapter does not, to my knowledge, exist. So please verify if you want a PS/2 (small, round connector) or Serial Port (long, flat connection with many pins)
Also, the color of the adapter may vary.
There are now converters that you can purchase that attach to the serial port of your device and plug into the USB port.
You need to purchase an adapter for this conversion. Just Google and you will find many on the net.
No. Totally different architecture.
The USB port, unless it is a Bluetooth mouse, then there is no port, it will connect via Bluetooth.
A serial mouse, some older dot matrix printers...
serial
New mice are neither serial or parallel, they are PS/2...So, if you look at the back of the computer it has a different socket than serial or parallel.Only older mice was serial or parallel.P.S. Sorry for my bad English, I don't know if socket is the correct word, but...

Serial mouse to a serial port. Display device (Monitor) to the VGA port. Speakers to the audio out port. Mic to the audio in/line in port. Pen drive, Mouse, Printer, Keyboard, Sound cards, Memory cards, Cameras etc to the USB port. Power cord to the SMPS port. LAN cable to the Ethernet port. Dot matrix printer to the parallel port.
A com port is the old type of serial port on a PC. They are numbered, and some PCs had two or more. Someone might use com port one for a mouse and com port two for a modem.
No. The term serial port refers to the older 9 or 25 pin, male connectors on the back of a PC. They were used for connecting to modems, certain printers, and mice.A USB port, while it is technically a type of serial port, it is incompatible with the old type of serial port. A USB port gets information about the device from the device, while the old type serial port simply transmitted data. USB to serial adapters do exist, but compatibility can be a challenge.
there are many ports that come directly off a mother board1) keyboard port2)mouse port3) a parallel port4) two S/PDIF port5)a fire wire port6) six sound ports7)a network port8) four USB ports9) and a wireless LAN antenna port

No. VGA port is not either serial or parallel port. It is a different interface. If you need a serial output, you need a VGA to serial converter.
As opposed to having a proprietary bus mouse (only found in very old computer systems), a serial mouse allows you to use a standardized interface and protocol, meaning you can easily replace the mouse if it breaks. The disadvantages of a serial mouse are:It occupies the serial port, barring it from use for other devices, such as a modem. If you only have one serial port and no internal modem, you cannot use a dial-up modem and the mouse at the same time. They are not always detected automatically or correctly by the operating system. They can't be used with many newer computers without purchasing an adapter, as newer computers often lack a serial port. They were introduced at a time when few optical (laser) mice were available. As such, you are usually limited to only ball mice, which some people do not like. They often have lower / fixed acceleration speeds, meaning it takes them longer to move across the screen or they require a larger movement of the mouse.
