Well, I got my second dog when I noticed my first dog was more sluggish and less playful when he wasn't around other dogs. I noticed this, pointed it out to my parents, and convinced them it would be for his health to get another dog. We did, and now he is much more playful and cheerful!

I have 3 dogs, and 3 cats.
Dogs:
Angel Nicole: 8 years old, best dog I have EVER had, Springer Spaniel, black with whiteish yellowish paws, bigger than the dog below who is older than her, girl, white stripe down her nose, fixed, Nickname(s): Angelina, and Punk Pup.
Beadle: 10 years old, my uncle Dwaynes dog, Chihuahua, dirty blonde/dark blonde, small, boy, not fixed, Nickname(s): Beatle Mister (pronounced My-ster ((Mist with a "y" instead of an "I" and then the "er" sound))), Beadle Buddy, and Punk Player.
Pepper: 20 weeks old, Full Blooded Chow, all black except a little white spot on her neck, small but not for long, soon she will be bigger than Angel who is like ALOT older than her, girl, not fixed, Nickname(s): None yet.
Cats:
Princess: 5-6 years old, my dads FAVORITE cat of ours, Calico, she has alot of white, some black, some light brown on her, she is well you ever heard of garfield? Well she's as 'bout as big as him (you know well let's just put it this way she's fat), she's LAZY and she could be be Garfield's wife I swear it, girl, fixed, Nickname(s): BigFluff, Fluff.
Sugar: 5 years old, my moms cat, we don't know her breed, she's black (yes I know, she's a black cat and her name is Sugar which is white, talk to my mom she's the idiot behind that and it's not because she's sweet as sugar or anything because that cat is anything BUT sweet most of the time, unless she wants something that's how it is with Princess most of the time too), small and really soft, girl, not fixed, Nickname(s): Sugar Bugar (I know I didn't spell it right but "bugar" as in what's in your nose).
Baby: 2-3 years old, Dad named her Baby because when she was born she was going to be being given away to a woman my mom used to work with but we kept her and he had named her baby temporarily, we don't know her breed, she has light brown and black on her and some of them or stripes and some are little tiny spots I wish I could show you a picture of her, she is Sugars daughter and she is the only kitten that survived because Sugar has mis-carried all of the other ones, small and soft just like her mama, not fixed, Nickname(s): Can't remember.

Oh hi! I've had that situation before! It's horrible! First of all show you are caring and loving to your 2 dogs already. But before nagging them take EXTRA good care of them show you are passionate about dogs and that you are a responsible young person. Then sit them down with you and say out loud all what you feel about the dogs, the whole buisness ..... Hope I helped :)
guilt them into it it always works for me
I am trying to convince my parents to let me get a third dog my best suggestion is to take care of the dogs as best as possible and maybe it will work. If you can be responsible with the dogs you have they might trust you to take care of another one. Wish you all the best.
I would in a heartbeat but my boyfriend is afraid of dogs so I'm trying to convince him.
By doing jobs around the house and asking nicely while providing a reason why you would like another dog
If one of your dogs is getting older, try to convince your parents that if it died it would be easier for your other dog if it had another companion. Also show reponsibility by walking your other dogs, playing with them and maybe teaching one or both of them a new trick. This should show your parents that you still love your other dogs and you are ready for a new one. Also maybe raise some money to help pay. Or say this could be your Christmas or Birthday prestent. Or maybe even both. :)
This depends on your parents, and to a very large extent on how well you have been taking care of your dogs. Are you the one who walks them and feeds them, or is Mom doing that? If the dog needs a bath, who does that? Your parents will look at how you have been handling the animals you already have in order to figure out whether you are likely able to take care of another.
give reasons on why you should get anothertell them how responsible you'll become up with ideas on how to handle the dog money wiseand show how responsible you are with the first dog you have
ask if they say no take care of the three and show them u are responsible
You can convince your parents to get you a dog by telling them how your school research work demands the same.
Nothing you do will ever convince them of your need for another dog. You already have two dogs, so be happy with what you do have and take care of them. If you want to try to sway their opinions, then go out of your way to show that you are a responsible person ... and not just for a day or two, but for a couple years. Maybe then, they might look at it differently.
You just show your parents Responsibility... What every parent wants there kids to have!
start out asking for a small animal
I hope you have your own house if you are 20.
