There are many ways, my mum used to 'spike it all over with cloves'(sorry for fogetting that)then boil it first for about an hour and add half a pint of cider to the water 10 mins before it was done. she'd then mix honey and mustard together roll the ham in it wrap it in foil and bake it in the oven. sliced thinly it was very nice. x

It's very easy actually. here is a web site in related links to help you out.

Remember to check the ham and see if it's fully cooked or not. If it's a fresh ham, you'll have to bake it longer than if it's a fully cooked ham.

Hams that you get in the store are already cooked. A fast and easy way is to pour a little Pineapple Juice in the roaster, put your ham in and cover. I cook for my ham at 10 - 15 mins., per pound (just to heat through.) If you want a nice pineapple glaze over the top, about 10 minutes before the ham is heated through, take the lid off roaster, put the pineapple glaze on (you can buy pineapple glaze in the Asian food section of a large grocery store.) Put in the broiler of the oven (don't move the roaster onto another shelf of the oven) and keep checking on it. When it looks light brown and a bit crusty it's ready.

A quick and easy way to heat ham through is slice it first, then put it on a nice platter (saran wrap over top of plate) and microwave for 5 - 8 minutes (check after 5 minutes) and when it's heated through (will be steaming) add some whole slice pineapple (or fresh pineapple cubes) and red jarred candied cherries.

Ham baked in milk is also excellent. You don't really need to cook the ham, just heat it thoroughly. If you cook it in about an inch of milk, covered with foil or a lid, the flavor's really excellent. Slice ham 1" thick but in baking dish spread mustard then brown sugar onto the ham slices then just cover with milk and bake till the milk turns clear.

Here are the easy steps on cooking smoked ham :

Take the wrapper of the ham. If it has a glazing packet, keep it aside for later use. Try to find a product which is which is already seasoned with spiced brine and sugar already. preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. When it starts to heat, get a rack and put it at the bottom.

Now get the roasting pan and put the ham inside. After that, put the aluminum foil on top of the meat. Say, you have a 4 pound ham, heat each of the pound for 8 minutes. which means you have to heat the meat for 32 minutes. Check its temperature using the meat thermometer. If the temperature of the ham reaches 120 degrees Fahrenheit, it is done already.

When you are in the final 20 minutes of the baking process, you can start removing the foil. If the ham has some glazing packet, put some of the meat on to it. Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and place the ham inside once again. Once the ham is baked, do not serve it immediately. Let it cool down for some time, maybe 10 minutes. Once done, then its time to serve and party.

To prepare a precooked ham, you simply need to heat it properly. You would pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees and then heat the ham for about ten minutes for each pound of the ham's weight.
