Place one cup of cold water in a pan, add one half cup of oats in the water, add a dash of salt, 1 1/2 tbsp margarine, stir oats into the water then cover with a lid and turn the heat down low and cook for 15-20min making sure to stir often to prevent it from sticking. When the oaks become softl, add honey, cinnamon and 1/4 cup of Carnation milk. Eat and enjoy!

First, you take the oats out of the container. Next, you put the oats with milk or water (pick one) into a pot on the stove. Turn up the heat (depends on how hot you like your oats). Next, wait until they are soft enough for you to chew. Then, turn the stove off and grab a dishing spoon. Finally, put your oats into a bowl that has a pot holder located under it. If you want you could put brown sugar, fruit, or any other type of sweet thing on the oats (totally optional).

I cook my oatmeal this way: 3/4 cup of milk, 1/3 cup Quaker QUICK oats, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon butter. Mix together, put in microwave 1 minute on high, check it, stir, continue cooking another 45 seconds, but watch it, will boil over. If you want it thicker, add oats, thinner add milk. Tastes great.

It depends on the type of oatmeal you buy. The "old fashioned" oatmeal generally takes 5-6 minutes, but you can also buy 1 minute "quick oats". You can mix the oats with milk or water: for a more liquid oatmeal, mix in more water, and for a thicker oatmeal, mix in less. Read the directions, but also experiment until you find what you like best. For healthy alternatives to sugar, try adding the following to your cooked oatmeal:

* fresh fruits, especially berries, which contain antioxidants * cinnamon, which can lower LDL cholesterol, may help prevent certain types of cancers and is loaded with vitamins * honey, which is a good antioxidant, and is the only food that won't go bad and if it becomes crystallized you can heat it in a dish in the microwave and it's good as new. You do not need to put honey in the fridge. * applesauce * Dark Chocolate chunks, which contain antioxidants

* For extra protein (non-instant oatmeal typically contains 5g of protein), try adding nuts such as walnuts, almonds or soynuts.

Not if you don't want to!

Why are oats always sold as 'Rolled Oats' and why don't you have 'Rolled Wheat'?

Oats are often sold as 'Rolled Oats' because they are processed in a way that makes them cook faster. You see, oats have a hard outer shell called the hull, and when they are rolled, that hull gets removed, which makes them softer and quicker to cook. As for 'Rolled Wheat,' it's not as common because wheat grains are a bit different from oats. They don't have the same tough outer shell, so they don't need to be rolled in the same way oats do. I have personally used True Elements rolled oats, and they are great! They cook up nicely and taste delicious in breakfast recipes like oatmeal or granola. So, if you are looking for a healthy and easy-to-cook breakfast option, give rolled oats a try!

What is the difference between quick oats and regular oats?

The difference is the cooking time. Quick oats cook in 5 minutes and the regular oats cooks in 15 minutes. That is why they are called Quick Oats. The reason that the cooking time is different is that quick oats are regular oats that have been cut a few times to make them smaller pieces.
