It all depends on how bad it is. I have hypertension, and mine is worse at the doctor's office. Better known as "White Coat Hypertension", my blood pressure can go as high as 150/100 without fail. Be sure to buy a blood pressure machine and record your blood pressure once in the morning, when you arise. And once before bed. And write it down in a little book. Take it with you to the doctor's when you go. I am taking 25 mg. of Atenolol to control mine. But it doesn't always work. Chamomile Tea is wonderful for lowering blood pressure, as well as a half bagel with jelly, and a banana for breakfast. Also try not to have too much sodium, I know it's hard, as sodium is in practically everything. Weight Loss and exercise helps as well. Hope that helps. :)
