You have to either tip them upside down or just lift their paw so you can see the bottom of their paw, then you have to look really closely for their veins in their nails. Take any type of clipper, although toe nail clippers work best, and cut their nail about a pencil tip distance away from vein or else you will make the guinea pig bleed.

∙ 8y agoCutting your rabbit's teeth is actually pretty simple, but you need to be extremely careful. Flip your rabbit on it's back and set him/her so that he/she is lying on your lap on their back. (you might need two people for this). Take some large nail clippers, and with the other hand spread open your rabbit's lips/mouth. Do not clip too close to the gums. When you decide to clip, clip all the way through, as to not annoy your bunny. Clipping their teeth is much like clipping your fingernails - it doesn't hurt them... so don't worry :)

∙ 14y agoGuinea pigs are rodents and being so, their teeth are continually growing. Because of this fact it is important to provide some type of chewing block for your guinea pig at all times (these can be purchased at pet stores, be careful not to use just any piece of wood from your garden because some types might be poisonous or have pesticide residue on them). If your guinea pig has not been provided adequate means for wearing down their teeth, and they have grown too long, you can carefully file them down with a metal file.

∙ 11y agoWell if you want to cut your guinea pigs hair you just cut little bits at the end of because you don't want them to lose to much hair. When you do cut you guinea pigs hair obviously don't cut there skin or anything like that and after brush through the guinea pigs hair to make sure there is no loose hair to annoy them.:)

∙ 14y agoYou don't. If your rabbit's teeth have overgrown, you need to take it to the vet for treatment. It is important to feed your rabbit dried timothy or alfalfa grass every day so it can keep chewing and grind its teeth down.
