How do you detect which virus has infected your computer - and if you are unable to find it can you just use a free virus scan that can detect and remove the virus from your computer?
You need to run these 6 essential steps to remove all the spyware on your computer.
1. Run Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)
2. Run the vundo and combo fix
3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
4. Run the anti spyware removal programs spybot
5 Run Superantispyware
6. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt!
Install threat fire which will enhance your antivirus protection
- Go to Trend Housecall (see link below) and use their free scanner, which works well. In addition, AVG works well.
- Norton Antivirus
- Try the following programs; they will stop all unwanted stuff from getting onto your computer. I went to www.webattack.com and found a way to remove it by doing the following: Clicked on the green link at the top of the page stating "FREEWARE," then clicked on virus tools/or you can search on that site for this program: "Avast home edition." It is the best freeware program that I have ever used and it removed the virus in no time.
The Funweb A is a Trojan horse virus, and when Avast picked it up was going by another name; I think that's why everybody has difficulty in removing it, and can't find anything under Funweb A.
Avast has also detected and removed 2 other virus-infected files on my computer! It is important to do a live update of Avast virus definitions and to set the program to run a full-system scan. Do download the full free home adition and not just the computer cleaner. It's absolutely amazing.
Two other freeware programs that run really well along with Avast can be found on the same site: Ad-Aware spy detector; and Zone Alarm firewall. I have all three of these and they work together like magic!
- Try to download the free trial of NOD32 -- it is rated #1. Do a Google search to find the NOD32 site.

Can a computer become virus infected and the installed antivirus program not detect it and if so how can this virus be removed?
Yes, in the hacking world it's called FUD (Fully Undetectable) If the virus is FUD then it simply means that no anti-virus can detect it (however viruses don't stay FUD for lo…ng) Viruses can also disable your anti-virus without you knowing it so that you think the anti-virus is scanning and working properly when it isn't. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can't delete a virus and you can't take it out when it is in your system. You have to get an adapter and a USB cord so you can run the Anti-Virus on another computer. Note: the internal hard disk is to be brought out and attached to the adapter and the USB cord and have the Anti-Virus run on it from another computer. Hope this helps! Yes, that's possible. First of all, there is no single antivirus-program, i know of, that will eliminate every virus that has ever been made. Secondly, antivirus-programs are always step behind virusses. That's because there first have to be a virus, before you can develop a method to eliminate it ..... This development is always hours (or even days or weeks) behind .... However, the change of having a unknown virus is virtually non-existing. If a virus becomes known, there will be a solution for it in (almost) every antivirus-program! If you think, however, that you have a virus and your antivirus-program can't find anything wrong, then do a additional online virusscan (f.e. with the online virusscanner of Trend Micro: housecall.trendmicro. If you're still declared healthy, but you're still suspisious, surf to one of the many antivirus-forums that are excisting all around the world ..... Or place your question here, at FaqFarm ....... Like you did ;-)) :-)) Good luck, Jahewi :-) you must be advanced user of PC if you want to delete it manually. like using of folder option that reveals the virus content, killing unknown process using task manager etc.... To remove viruses run your computer in safe mode by tapping f8 on bootup. Then run and install Malwarebytes. Do a full scan and quarentine the viruses. Restart the computer in nomal mode and install superantispyware. Run a scan in that program and then quarentine all items. An optional third opinoin scan you can run is dr.web cure it. Install the program and scan. Quarentine all items. By this point your computer should be virus free. Solution: 1: Create restore point and take registry backup. 2: Delete all temp files. 3: Delete all unwanted software's and security software's from add/remove program. 4: Disable all unwanted services from startup and then remove from registry. 5: Reset internet explorer and then register all .dll files. 6: Scan with spyware removal malwarebyte, hijackthis and trojon removal. 7: Check windows update if found and then download and install. 8: Defrag C: drive 9: Restart the computer, and then check it. 10: every week update and scan spyware and virus removal tool. But it doesn't really work i have tryed it and if you get a free anti virus, they will go out of date and the fire wall protection is turn off.. and that allows a virus called, Trojan virus to come on to you comoputer.. To stop that problem you go to- my computer and you look through all your documents and delete EVERYTHING! That is how they get on there and take over everything and leave you screwed!
How do you remove a virus that makes your computer restart every time you run LimeWire and other file sharing programs but cannot be detected in virus scans?
try reinstalling limewire or any of the other files it uses...also, most file sharing programs are p2p, which sometimes when someone tries to get information from you, the com…puter will shut down because it sees the person trying to access the file as a potential threat, so (dont blame me if your computer starts getting viruses, adware, or spyware for this) if youre using a firewall, set it so it always lets the program through and have access to all non-critical files. another answer-- i came across something that someone can do to you're computer that an make it automatically restart when you press something i don't remember how it was done but it was done. the only way to stop it is to find the person who did it and ask them to remove it or find the file you're self By Joseph: try this one, Right click on My Computer>Advanced>Startup Recovery>Settings>Turn off the automatically Restart.

How do you detect which virus has infected your mac and if you are unable to find it which free virus scan can detect and remove the virus?
Free virus scans are for the most part, scams. Even if you're computer's clean they'll find something, and if you're computer DOES have a virus, a free scan usually won't find… it. They just want you to buy their product, nothing is ever free. If you want something that can help you break down and pay for a virus scanner.

The italic part is the name of a virus. If your computer has a virus, you might want to install a security system if you don't already have one, and if you have one, do a scan on your computer. I recommend AVG Security system with Mozilla Firefox, good protection and fast search time with this combo for those who need.
