You can determine if something is living or nonliving by these simple things:
1. They have to be able to reproduce, either asexually or sexually.
2. They have to be able to respond to stimuli.
3. They have to have cells, either as a unicellular organism or as a multicellular organism.
4. They have to grow and develop.
5. They have to have homeostasis. This means that they can maintain their own body temperature. Think of this as a thermometer for the body.
6. The last thing is that all living things also have to be able to do is move.
7 characteristics define all living things. If it is missing one of the characteristics, it's not living.
1)It is made up of cells
2)It can adapt to its environment
3)It reproduces offspring similar to itself
4)It requires fuel
5)It produces waste
6)It grows
7) I'm not quite sure
Ability to move independently and ability to reproduce.
When trying to come up with characteristics of nonliving things, it helps to think about what makes them different from living things. Unlike living organisms, nonliving things do not need water to survive, nor do they have reproductive or respiratory systems. In addition, nonliving things do not need nutrition in order to exist.
What seperates the living from nonliving things?
A Cell because organelles don't have all the living characteristics and the cell does. And it can't be nonliving. Also living things has to have a cell that makes up them.
Nonliving things do not grow at all because that is a characteristic of life. Living things use energy to grow.
Ability to move independently and ability to reproduce.
nonliving things are things that don't use energy
No...otherwise it would be considered living!

A waterfall is nonliving because water is not a living thing.
What seperates the living from nonliving things?
Trees are living things, until they die; then they are nonliving things.
what are the nonliving things and living things for a pronghorn
What are all living and nonliving things in an area called
ability to move, respire, sense, grow, reproduce, excrete, and take in nutrients (eat).
nonliving Only living things can reproduce themselves.
A virus is considered non-living. It does not have all the characteristics of a living thing unlike bacteria. Viruses need living cells to reproduce while any living things can reproduce (asexually or not).
