There are a few ways you can do this.

You can go directly to an attorney, and for a small fee, they can check if you have a warrant for you. They can then give you advice on how to deal with it.

You can go directly to the police station, and just ask them. Be prepared though, if you do it this way, you will need to go ahead and turn yourself in if you do.

You can call the department for the jurisdiction where the bounced check occurred and ask them. Do this from a phone with the caller ID blocked or from a phone in a public area if you are not prepared to deal with the warrant then. Most departments will let you know if you have a warrant.

Look online for the department you would have the warrant out of. Most major departments have online warrant inquiries. You can just plug in your name and look. They aren't tracing these back, because it can be anyone looking, so nobody is going to show up at your door for looking, especially on a charge like that.

Just keep in mind, if you do have a warrant, it is eventually going to catch up with you. It is best to find out and have a plan to deal with it. It's always easier to be prepared for it. If it happens at a traffic stop, at work, or while you are renewing your license, it is going to be much more inconvenient.

Is there a way you can find out if you have outstanding bad checks that were written years ago?

try looking your name up under casenet.com, you can also call the courthouse in the county you wrote the checks, this way you will also know if their is a warrant out for your arrest.

Will they issue a warrant for bad checks?

Bad checks are a crime and yes, they can get a warrant. Depending on the circumstances they are not likely to make arrests or go that far. They want their money, not you in jail. They can absolutely arrest you in Montana. Their records are slow, and if you accidently write a check which bounces, they will arrest you and/or put a warrant out for your arrest. It happened to me, I bounced a check to the supermarket for $40. I cleared it up but they have paper records there, and they arrested me and put my "bail" at $100.

Can you be arrested if you have a juvenile bench warrant and you are 18 years old?

If there is an outstanding warrant for bad checks of 8 years can they still procute?

If there is an outstanding warrant, you can be arrested on your deathbed. You better believe that they can still prosecute. The only hope on something like this is that the original complaintant no longer wants to pursue the case. Even then though, the state has to be the one to drop the case.
