How to find out if anyone sent me an answer?

If you are signed in, when a question is answered it will notify you according to your preferences.

If you are not signed in, you will need to save the url of the question page and go back to it regularly to see if it is answered.

If you want to follow a question that you did not add to the site, but that you want the answer to, then use the "follow" link on the left hand menu (you have to be signed in so that it knows where to email you though).

If you have a username, you can adjust your settings (to the left, in the Tools Menu) so that you receive an email when your question is answered or edited. Make sure you are logged in when you ask the question, though. If you want to find out the answer to a question that you yourself did not ask, just add that question to your Watchlist.

If you are not logged in, you will have to check back at the page. Just type in that question again, click go, and then there will be an answer below your question if it has been answered.

First of all, are you a logged on user with a user name ? If not, sign up ! If you are, you should have something called a watchlist which will show any changes someone has made to a question you have asked.

You could type the question in once again in the Ask box, then you would find it on the page given.

Check the 2nd box to receive notifications of changes to questions on your watchlist and the third to find out when your message board has a new message.

Most people either bookmark their question, or follow the question. You can follow a question by clicking on the question and on the right in the blue drop-down box going half-way down the page, click 'follow'.
