You don't fix it, you replace it. Replace the belt according to the schedule in your owner's manual. If it breaks and your engine is an interference engine, you will 95% of the time have damage. You will know the extent of the damage when the engine is torn down. ---------- Saturns do not have a timing belt, they have a chain, as stated in the question. Symptoms of bent valve will show on a leakdown test or engine simply will not run.
It has a timing chain. I don't know the answer to the latter part of the question, sorry. I've actually had the same issue finding true engine specs, not just the basics and the interior features!
the 4.7 v8 has 3 timing chains, i am not sure of manufactures rec, but i do know that if a chain goes, you can kiss the motor good bye. i would recomend all 3 anywere from 150000 kms to 200000. could be a pricey job. tensioners, guides, etc.
Crankshaft at 12:00 Camshaft at 6:00 You can also purchase a Haynes manual from any loval Auto Zone and it has everything you need to know about your Jeep!
Keyboard player is D10 the drummer is Adrian Bent, those ar the ones I know.
It depends on what you mean. The valve sequence for what? 5 sharps is the key of B (or A concert) but to answer the question, we need to know what you are trying to play.
I'm having that done now(98 S10). $380 to replace the chain. If they have to pull the oil pan to remove broken pieces, it will be $805. When they get it back together, they will do a compression test to see if any valves are bent. Don't know what it will cost to fix that.
No such thing as a timing chain belt. It is either a belt or chain. Replace the belt according to the schedule in your owner's manual. If it breaks and your engine is an interference engine, you will 95% of the time have damage. You will know the extent of the damage when the engine is torn down. The 1992 SL2 has a timing chain. Mine has 240,000 miles on it and is still running fine.
i know the 2.2l from 1995 is. if it is an overhead valve then most likely it is.
Line up the timing marks, install new chain and gears, then do a compression test. If you have some cylinders with no compression, the push rods and maybe some valves are bent. There may be some piston damage done also. Good luck.
As far as I know the 2.3 liter DOHC engine in a 2008 Ford Ranger has a timing CHAIN
If you have a bent valve slide, or valve, or valve casing, they usually wont move. Valve's and valve casings would prevent the valves from moving, while bent valve slides wont easily pull out. If you suspect a bent valve, valve casing, or slide, try cleaning and oiling it first, valves and slides can become stuck with the lack of valve oil or slide grease.
Need to know where the timing chain gear marking are?
Timing chains have an automatic tensioner. If it is loose enough to skip timing or makes a noticeable noise you are probably going to have to replace it. Even chains stretch with use. By the way, changing a timing chain is not all that difficult but, if you don't know what you are doing you can completely destroy an engines valve train if it is not done properly.
I need to know where the timing chain is located in a 1988 Olds 98 regency brougham, and how expensive a timing chain is.
