I had a problem once with my 97 Ford F 150 where the brake lights were reversed. On all the time except when I pushed on the pedal on the wires that went to my boat trailer.
It was a simple relay that was fried. Took it to Firestone and there "Master Repairman" said everything was off on the trailer electric connection. I knew that was incorrect because it used to work just fine.
Took it to the Ford dealer and within 20 min diagnosed the problem with a cheap fix of about 30 dollars.
I dont know because i dont have a FORD Check your brake light switch on the back of your brake pedal for adjustment.
I suspect either a faulty ground circuit, or a much easier fix, faulty bulb/bulbs. You might be surprised the havoc a grounded out bulb will cause an electrical system.
Brake lights and turn signals are on a separate circuit from the tail lights. Tail lights are on the same circuit with the dashboard lights. If the dashboard lights aren't working either, check the fuse. If they ARE working, check the headlight switch.
if i read that right lol all cars do that that is just the way they are set up if ur lights arent on your brake light dont need to be on hell as long as someone sees your reverse lights ur fine but anyways all cars do that
If the headlights are on and brake lights work but not the tail lights, it is possible there is a short in the electrical wires. Another cause for this could be that the tail light bulbs are burned out. Most vehicles have more than one bulb inside the tail lights to control different lights at the same time.
one of two things, BAD EARTH, or Relay switch.
brake lights dont work
check the bulbs themselves they sometimes short out internaly & cause feedback also check sidemarker lights I have changed all bulbs and fuses! Wiring problem???
Pop the hood, take off the front grill, remove old lights, replace with new ones. The headlights will probably be mounted on a frame.
my headlights work but my taillights and dash light dont work whats wrong
Sounds like it's simply a bad switch if you're talking about the normal headlights. If it's daytime running lights there is a "kill switch" in the handbrake that turns them on when the brake is released and off when the brake is activated.
change the brake lights check the fuse check the brake light swtch
