What would you like to do?
The ABS light comes on when there is a problem in the system. Bad sensor, pump, etc. As far as I know the ABS uses it's own computer and is difficult or impossible (in most cases) to pull codes from to find out what the exact problem is. About the only option you have is to take it to a shop to have it put on a scanner. That or start replacing parts at random. It should be fixed as soon as you can, however, when the ABS stops working you WILL NOT lose your brakes. It simply operates like a pre-ABS system.

Answer Hello, I am working on this problem w/2002 GP. This is why I found your question. It is a digital display for clock/radio station display that… fuctions but does not light up. Wiring diagrams are pointing me towards replacing the dash light switch module which feeds the radio. I am still investigating. Is my problem discrtiptive of yours? Bmac498@comcast.net
\n. \n Lights on During the Day \n. \nThe Grand Prix models come with daytime running lights so they are on during the day, but the regular lights are controlled by a se…nsor and are set to come on in dusk conditions automatically and off when daylight is sufficient.
Get it checked out. The ABS warning light is on to tell you that there is a problem with the ABS system. Take your car to a knowledgeable mechanic and hook… it up to a diagnostic tool and source the problem. It can be as simple as a ABS sensor/wire conector or it may be the ABS modual. Fix the problem and the light will go away. Hope this helps. "G"
Answer First of all, I'm sorry the previous person had the nerve to call you a "moron" and not even spell the insult correctly, how ironic. Obviously this person is not… the owner of a 2004 grand prix or does not even know how to operate their own. Before re-setting the tire pressure, make sure you have corrected the problem causing the warning. The warning message appears if the pressure in one tire becomes 12 psi lower than the other three tires. Your car will "learn" the pressure at each tire every time you reset the system. This takes 45-90 minutes of driving per the operating manual. This does not have to be accumulated in one single trip either. To reset the tire pressure monitor system, after correcting the problem, you have to use the options under the Driver Information Center (DIC) on your dash. The button you want to utilize is called the "set/reset" button, it is the third button from the left, directly in the middle of all the buttons. It has an arrow that points to the left. Press and hold the button until the DIC displays "Tire Inflation Has Been Set", this message confirms the tire pressure system has been reset. If, by chance, the DIC does not return to the standard display with the date, ect., you can press the "options" button to get back to the standard display. The "options" button is directly to the right of the "set/reset" button you just got done using. It has a lower case "i" on it. I hope this answer helps you, and good luck!!!

You need to replace the WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY (front right and left). You may just need one or the other. I went to Auto Zone and bought one unit then plugged it into each whee…l to determine which one was bad. This saved a $50 diagnostic charge. Total cost of repair by local mechanic was $250.

What if your ABS and traction control light come on and stay on in your 2004 Pontiac grand prix GT what is the problem?
It is one of the wheel bearings. it went bad, well at least the wheel sensor integrated in it went bad. its most likely one of the front ones. hope this helps
The ABS light on a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am can be reset by connecting an OBDII code reader to the vehicle's computer. It can reset all codes and determine their cause.
Inside the trunk there is plastic thumb screws right behind the tail light unscrew them and pull the whole tail light out.
I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and when I am at slow speeds with the wheel cut either right or left the abs and trac lights come on Is this an abs sensor Is it connected to the wheel bearing?
Yes it sounds like your ABS sensor is bad and the sensor is located behind the hub assembley connected to the hub Remove it and get a new one or just deal with it. It will not… hurt anything, you just will not have Anti lock brakes.
Wiring in the front by the suspension gets pinched. I have about 5 friends with these cars & my daughter has one. It fixed the problem
