Prestone has coolant flush for about $3. S10 V6 have that crap dexcool. DO NOT USE
IT! It promotes corrosion and there are some MAJOR lawsuits going on over it. I couldn't get that damn plastic check valve off so I took the hose off the bottom and flushed thru there. Good luck Dexcool was GM's "smart idea" about an orange coolant that was supposed to last 100k miles. It's great for clogging engines. Use standard antifreeze. Be sure you get all the gunk out forst, even if you have to floush several times with just clear water. You don't want to have to go through this again. BTW, to get to that hose, you have to remove the battery. Use a locking jaw type pliers to remove that hoseclamp. Careful of knuckles.. not much space. Great engineering!
Flush the cooling system? Flush the fuel system? Flush the hydraulic brake system? Flush the AC system? Flush the transmission? Pick one.
Remove the bottom radiator hose from your 1995 Chevy Lumina radiator. Put a water hose in the top of the radiator. Allow the water hose to run. Keep the water running until clear water runs out of the bottom of the radiator.
Remove the bottom hose from your 1995 Chevy Corvette radiator. Allow the coolant to drain out. Put a hose into the top of the radiator. Run water through the radiator until it runs clear.
The radiator on a 1995 Saturn is flushed by draining the coolant, refilling the engine with water, and adding a flush. It is allowed to circulate and drain before refilling with coolant.
I would suggest you replace the thermostat, and flush the cooling system. Also check the radiator fins and see if they are clean and free of debris.
cut upper core support with sawzall flush with radiator sides after removing radiator
First, stop driving it. Next determine why it is overheating. Check the radiator cap, and replace if necessary. Check the cooling fan and water pump for proper operation. If they are both good, then do a complete cooling system service. Drain the coolant, and flush the system with the heater control on hot. Replace the thermostat and install a 60/40 mix of the proper coolant and distilled water. This will allow for the water left in the system and give you a 50/50 mix. Bleed all air out of the system, and clean the exterior of the radiator fins.
Open up your rad cap put a garden house in it and fill up the rad and start your vehicle. let it pour through and watch your temp gauge and run it till the water is clear going through.
buy the universal fluid at your local automotive store.
no bleeding necessary, just run the engine and refill the radiator/reservoir back to capacity.
Flush your radiator coolant and replace thermostat
Yes its in the back of the grill area in front of the radiator
