How do you fold the Philippines flag?
Hold the flag at each of its four corners and pull it taut. The folder holds the corners at the end with the blue and red fields.
Fold the flag in half, lengthwise, with the red field covering the blue field. Pull it taut again making sure the open side's edges are flush with one another.
Fold it in half again, the closed side over the open side, again maintaining the flattening tension and parallel, flush edges on the open side. The blue field should now be displayed face up.
Take the closed side's blue field corner and fold it over the open side such that what was the bottom edge is now parallel and flush with the open side forming a right triangle (a triangle with a ninety-degree angle).
At the right angle, fold the flag again such that a new right triangle is formed, still keeping the open edges parallel.
Fold the right-angled corner of the new triangle over such that it forms a new right triangle with what had been the bottom edge now flush with the side of the flag below it.
Continue this sequence of folds creating right triangles until the flag is completely folded into a right triangular bundle. The white field and yellow sun should now predominate in the visible areas of the flag.

Answer The folds do not represent the original 13 colonies, nor do they have any official symbolic meaning. If a list of "meanings" is recited after each fold at a military funeral, it is at the behest of the family of the fallen. There is no official military ceremony that requires a list of meani…ngs to be read. The flag is folded like it is because the final shape is best for presentation. The 13 folds are simply a function of the dimensions of the flag. (MORE)

It is important because it has big contributions on the Philippine Independence. The eight rays of the sun symbolizes the eight provinces: Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Laguna, and Batangas. In the Philippine history, these eight provinces initiated to declare a state of… war when the first revolt was initiated in the 1896; a revolution of independence from Spain, and placed under martial law by the colonial government. The revolution which was initiated by the eight provinces is a sign of valor that brings the country into it's freedom from other races who has this desire to dominate the Philippines. If we do not have these eight provinces, we do not have this sun in the Philippine flag with eight rays, and most probably this country would probably still dominated by foreign people. (MORE)

The first fold of our Flag is a symbol of life. The second fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life. The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing our ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of our country to attain peace throughout the w…orld. The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance. The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong." The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our Republic. The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother's Day. The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded. The tenth fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born. The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. When the Flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding us of our Nation's motto, "In God We Trust." After the Flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for us the rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today. Indianapolis Firefighters Emerald Society How to Fold the Irish Flag The colors that make up the Irish flag are often symbolic and have designated meaning. Three colors make up the Irish flag. Green represents the Catholics of Ireland; orange represents the Protestants of Ireland; and the whi…te stripe between the two represents the idea of unity and peace between both people. 1. Fold the orange section over on top of the white section. 2. Turn the flag over and fold the green section over similarly on top of the opposite side of the white section. 3. Fold the flag in half doubling the orange section in on top of itself, leaving the green on both sides of the remaining square. The idea behind this specific folding pattern is so that the orange and green sections symbolically never touch. The orange section represents Protestant settlers in Ireland (there is a William of Orange connection but I am unsure as to what) and the green section represents the Catholic indigenous. Because of the conflict between the two in the past in the Republic, the white is included in the flag to represent peace, and to separate them when the flag is folded. Presumably the green section is left foremost as it is the National Color of Ireland. If the Irish Flag is folded triangularly (like the Stars and Stripes ), this is incorrect. (MORE)
