How do you get AIDS?
AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is the result of damage caused by the virus HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus). HIV is acquired through bodily fluid transmission with an infected person through sexual contact, blood or plasma transfusion, organ transplant, or any of a variety of other forms of fluid or tissue transference.

AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. If you get infected with HIV, your body will try to fight the infection. It will make "antibodies," spe…cial molecules to fight HIV. However your body's defenses become worn out as more of your helper T cells and CD4 cells die and the viral load in your blood increases leaving you vulnerable to opportunistic infections.
To my knowledge there are only a few species that develop AIDS. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the cause of AIDS in humans. HIV is not able to live in any other animal.… Cats and monkeys have a different virus that infects them. We are not able to acquire these viruses because they are species specific. Bears are not a known to develop AIDS.
No you can not. One of you have to have HIV or AIDS to get it. But if one of you has had sex with a person with the AIDS virus, it's possible to pass the virus on before you d…evelop symptoms yourself. "If you have sex with someone, you are having sex with everyone they've had sex with." Please use protection unless you're both absolutely sure you're not infected!

You can only get HIV/AIDS by having intimate contact with someone who has the HIV virus and/or AIDS, or by a transfer of blood or other body fluid, such as a stab from a conta…minated needle. AIDS is "Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome," which is caused by the HIV virus. See the link below for further information. It is very possible to get HIV from someone who has HIV. The only way to get HIV is from someone who has HIV or by transfer of contaminated blood. HIV is different than AIDs because HIV (the virus) causes AIDs (the condition). Sometimes a person can have HIV and never have AIDs, but it is not possible to have AIDs without HIV.
how to get aids You don't actually "get" AIDS. You might get infected with HIV, and later you might develop AIDS. You can get infected with HIV from anyone who's in…fected, even if they don't look sick and even if they haven't tested HIV-positive yet. The blood, vaginal fluid, semen, and breast milk of people infected with HIV has enough of the virus in it to infect other people. Most people get the HIV virus by: * having sex with an infected person * sharing a needle (shooting drugs) with someone who's infected * being born when their mother is infected, or drinking the breast milk of an infected woman Getting a transfusion of infected blood used to be a way people got AIDS, but now the blood supply is screened very carefully and the risk is extremely low. There are no documented cases of HIV being transmitted by tears or saliva, but it is possible to be infected with HIV through oral sex or in rare cases through deep kissing, especially if you have open sores in your mouth or bleeding gums
AIDS is a disease of the human immune system. It stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and is caused by the virus HIV. You usually become infected by having sex or sh…aring needles with an infected person.
Kool Aid drink mix itself will not give you AID's nor make you HIV positive, despite the misleading name. Furthermore, if you prepare the drink mix into a beverage according t…o the manufacturer's instructions you should not come down with AID's. That being said, improper use of the Kool Aid mix could lead to contracting AID's, though I am unaware of any such cases. For example, if you decide to intravenously inject Kool Aid and regularly share needles with people who are at risk for HIV (such as IV drug users), you could contract AIDs. Be sure to always use clean needles if you choose to inject Kool Aid, and never share needles. As a general rule, don't use bodily fluids (blood, saliva, semen, etc.) when mixing Kool Aid unless they are your own. Also, do not drink Kool Aid that has been in contact with bodily fluids other than your own, (non-human primates are no exception!). Kool Aid is no substitute for safe sex practices, so use a condom. And make sure that the Kool Aid mix does not interfere with protective latex barrier. Lastly, be conscious of where your mix has been. Do not use mix that you find in public, especially if it may have come in contact with bodily fluids. Do not use mix that has been opened previous to purchasing it, again, especially if there are bodily fluids present. Drinking Kool Aid is a fun and perfectly normal activity and if you drink responsibly, and there is no reason to let the fear of contracting AID's ruin your fun.
AIDS AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is a syndrome (also a collection of symptoms / illnesses) caused by the most advanced stages of HIV -Human Immuno…deficiency Virus/ infection. Simply put, AIDS is a virus that attacks the immune system; the cells of the immune system are essentially what your body needs to fight a virus- so when the immune cells themselves get attacked, you have a problem- the body is left unable to defend itself. AIDS is not a specific illness as such, but a person is said to have developed AIDS when their immune system is so badly damaged by HIV that it can no longer fight off a range of defined opportunistic infections. The exact definition of AIDS varies by country (and purpose of definition), but it will generally be diagnosed when a person is HIV-positive AND suffers from at least one of the following conditions: . Candidiasis of bronchi, trachea or lungs . Candidiasis oesophageal . Cervical cancer (invasive) . Coccidioidomycosis, disseminated or extrapulmonary . Cryptococcosis, extrapulmonary . Cryptosporidiosis, chronic intestinal for longer than 1 month . Cryptomegalovirus disease (other than liver, spleen or lymph nodes) . Encephalopathy (HIV-related) . Herpes simplex: chronic ulcer(s) (for more than 1 month); or bronchitis, pneumonitis or oesophagitis . Histoplasmosis, disseminated or extrapulmonary . Isosporiasis, chronic intestinal (for more than 1 month) . Kaposi's sarcoma . Lymphoma Burkitt's, immunoblastic or primary brain . Mycobacterium avium complex . Mycobacterium, other species, disseminated or extrapulmonary . Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia . Pneumonia (recurrent) . Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy . Salmonella septicemia (recurrent) . Toxoplasmosis of the brain . Tuberculosis . Wasting syndrome due to HIV In some countries, an AIDS diagnosis will also be made when an HIV-positive person's CD4 count falls below 200 per µL of blood (even if they outwardly still seem perfectly healthy and have not yet experienced symptoms of any of the above AIDS-defining illnesses). The exact use of the AIDS definition is further complicated by the fact that some countries regard AIDS as incurable and an AIDS diagnosis as irreversible, whilst others countries regard AIDS as being cured when a patient is cured of all AIDS-defining illnesses. Because AIDS is a syndrome, there is no test for AIDS. There is only a test for HIV - the virus which can cause AIDS - and the individual illnesses that contribute towards the AIDS diagnosis. Prevention of AIDS AIDS passes from person to person via direct contact of certain bodily fluids; This includes: . Sex- oral sex, anal sex, intercourse . Infected needles- injecting yourself (drugs) with a needle/syringe that was previously used by an infected person . Tattoos/piercings- using tools that have not been properly sterilized . blood transfusions- All blood is checked in the US for the risk of HIV yet some rare cases still exist and it is advisable to be wary in foreign countries . Mother /baby- the baby of an HIV infected mother has a chance of being born with HIV- although recent studies (March of Dimes) shows that with proper care and drugs the chances can be as low as 2%. To avoid contracting the virus: . Use protection when having sex . Use sterile needles/sterile tools at a tattoo/piercing parlor AIDS is an acronym for acquired immune deficiency syndrome. It is adisease that affects the human immune system. It can be spreadthrough bodily fluids such as blood and semen.

AIDS is a syndrome that occurs after you are infected with the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus.) It is transmitted by contact to blood or other bodily fluids (semen, breast …milk, etc.). It is most commonly transmitted sexually, but many other transmission possibilities exist. There is much controversy as to where and how AIDS started, but it is beleived that it was originally a disease found in chimpanzees and monkeys that mutated to become pathologic to humans as well. No one is truly certain that it was passed from primates to humans via sexually contact or from other possibilities, such as consuming raw primate meat by humans. The strongest evidences suggests that the disease orginated in Africa and was spread by humans traveling between continents.
