How do you sell and trade on Skullduggery Island?

The first money you make on Skullduggery Island is by encountering floating "salvage" items (doubloons and cargo), sometimes from ships that have been sunk by pirates and sea monsters. Pick up a few from the sea, but watch out for pirates and monsters that can sink your raft.

When you have some funds, go to the Golden Harbor Bank and borrow more, this will make it easier to accumulate doubloons in a hurry. Repay the loan before it becomes due, and then you can borrow more (up to your total worth).

Avoid losing doubloons (10%) and cargo (10% or 13%) if you are sunk.

Collect salvage from the sea and trade among the islands to accumulate your wealth, and avoid getting sunk. (There is mostly salvage between Parrot Port and Golden Harbor and above Dragon's Cove) Once you get cannons, (preferrably 2) you can go and sink the sea creatures at the top of Dragon's Cove. When they sink, you can salvage a lot of cargo and doubloons.

Once you get larger ships, you can collect more salvage, because the cargo holds are larger. (For example, the Phoenix Warbird collects tens and thousands of doubloons every time you collect salvage.)

Sea Monsters and Pirate Ships

Sinking a Sea Creature or Pirate Ship will release a LARGE amount of salvage, easily filling a medium-sized ship. The sea creatures tend to stay around Dragon Cove and the Pirates near the Pirate Outpost.

If you have a decent fighting ship (2 cannon or more), hang around the pirate outpost. There are almost ALWAYS ships there that are weaker than you. As soon as you start fighting a ship, head for the rocks (near Golden Harbor). You can Dodge the rocks and make the other ship ram into them. As soon as they sink, you get the cargo.

If you'd rather an enemy that doesn't shoot back, the sea creatures (puffer fish, giant crab, and octopus) are nearly as lucrative. Draw them out above Dragon Cove. Occasionally you may get more than one, or even the occasional pirate ship.

Golden Harbor Bank

Go to Golden Harbor, and far right to the bank. You can borrow up to your total worth (doubloons and cargo value). Once you have 1500 doubloons, go there, borrow an equal amount, and buy your first new ship (the Jimmy Rigger) at Dragon Cove.

The bank charges 5% interest per "day" (each day being travel from one island to a different island) and the loan is only good for 20 "days". If it is not repaid by then, you cannot buy a new ship until it is. Paying off a loan restores your good credit and you can then get a larger loan. This is especially time-saving if you amass 500,000 doubloons, as you can then borrow the rest to buy the Phoenix Warbird.

How you make money, is you sail around the islands, trying to find money and salvage. Then you should probably sell all the cargo stuff you have, and keep reapeating this process.

Bouffant Bay: Buy all the medicine you can carry

Parrot Port: Sell all the medicine and buy all the spice you can carry

Golden Harbor: Sell all the spice and buy all the grain you can carry

Pirate Outpost: Sell all the grain and buy all the spice you can carry

Dragon Cove: Sell all the spice

Repeat these tips.

.Going bankrupt? No money? Money loss! Not to worry, there's a bank at Golden Outpost where you can borrow money! Note: The money needs to be paid back by a certain date

.If you experience a pirate ship or a monster, turn around and dock at the nearest dock unless you have a strong ship

.Don't sail in the black storm clouds, it causes damage

.Try hiding in the white clouds, not the black storm clouds

Each island has a Trading Post with a character there, about halfway to the right from the dock. You can select which of the four cargoes you buy or sell, but you cannot buy more than your ship will hold, or more than you can pay for with your doubloons (cash).

When buying, you should buy cargoes that are cheaper at a location than at the other islands :

Silk is bought cheaply at Dragon Cove.

Medicine is bought cheaply at Bouffant Bay.

Grain is bought cheaply at Golden Harbor.

Spice is bought cheaply at the Pirate Outpost.
