How do you get a mentally ill person into a hospital if never diagnosed?

If the person gets out of control you need to call an ambulance and they can get the person to the medical care he or she needs. The ambulance personnel are trained on dealing with the mentally ill person. If you have to call your own doctor and see if he or she can help you with the matter. Some mentally ill people have had to be tricked into getting help but it is better if you have medical personnel help you get the proper care you need for him or her.

The difference between the 2 is huge.....being mentally ill can range from having depression to bipolar disorder, to just having a phobia of something or grieving for a loved one...when we think of psychotic, we think of a screaming person kicking and destroying things and being restrained like in the movies. This may never happen ever to a mentally ill person. A mentally ill person may take medication to help with symptoms and receive individual counseling and/or behavioral therapy to help talk out problems and learn coping skills to overcome their challenges in everyday life. Being in a state of mind that is psychotic requires immediate action...they may be restrained so they dont harm themselves or others, and the person is usually put into an inpatient psychiatric unit in a hospital so that the proper meds can be administered to help with their symptoms or even to calm them down...usually after a few days, the person is fine and can be on their way. Very rarely does a person need to stay in a hospital the rest of their life.
