Mix one part of Avon skin so soft with two parts water. spray on dog real good. I have tried this with my outside lab and it works! Not too expensive, safe, good for fur, and smells good! Works on fleas also, spray as instructed above (Avon skin so soft bath oil), can also spray on bedding and on outside area where dog frequents.

try using a tick shampoo. Besides keeping something like Frontline Plus on your dog, get a Preventic Tick Collar. The collars kill ticks that are already buried in. Worth their weight in gold.
Take some pine oil in a spray bottle and spray them with it but don't spray them in their eyes or you can chop up some garlic in their food when you feed them make sure you do this every day
bathe your dog in Tomato Juice. REMEMBER DO NOT GET IN DOGS EYES!!!
Unfortunately it is going to hurt him/her. What you have to do is:
Remember, althogh this will hurt, you are doing a huge thing for your dog; that tick probably soon would have babies, and slowly all of those accumulating ticks would kill your dog.
PS: The ticks hatch after 2 weeks, so watch out for when the 2 weeks have passed, and be ready to kill them.
You will need a good set of tweezers, a strong light source and a container to put the tick in. An assistant to hold the dog still is very helpful. Shine the light on the dog's body where the tick is at so you can see it clearly. Using the tweezers, grasp the tick BY THE HEAD - this will be the tiny dark round structure next to the skin. Do NOT try to pull the tick off by the body - the head will pop off and it will take a veterinarian to get the head removed, probably after finding it by locating the center of the skin infection and scratched-bald area.
Pull with a firm but steady pressure. Once you have the tick removed, carefully examine it to make sure you have the entire tick - there should be a large body and a small head. Drop the tick in the container and seal it if possible - you can throw the container in the trash. Carefully check your dog over - if there is one tick, there may be more. Also, you may want to consider using a flea/tick preventive product such as Frontline or Advantage if you live in a tick-prone area.
Don't burn it or poke at it it might make it barf releasing toxins into your dog. Pull it out straight without twisting it (its head might break off if you twist it). There are also tools at pet shops for getting the tick out easier.
Put vaseline on it, it will fall off soon.
try to remove the hairs around the tick then gently get your gfront teeth around the tick and bite it off
you take the dog to a near by vet and they will probably use tweezers to get it out.
Use a kit that is good for removing ticks, possibly go to your local vet and ask for advise, but do not let them do it, they will charge you a lot.
Not sure if the tick's head will cause a disease or infection. The best way to remove a tick without pulling on it is to put a drop of olive oil on the tick. The oil will cause the tick to pull its head out as it suffocates.
The head of the tick will not spread disease, as the tick's stomach, which contains the bacteria, is no longer attached. There is no pressing need to remove the tick head, and your body will expel it like a splinter. Contact your health care provider to find out what care, if any, is indicated in your area after removing a tick.
Just pull it out with a pair of tweezers.
If it is removed improperly, yes it can get "stuck" or left behind. Contact your local vet if you are unsure as to how to remove the tick.
to remove a tick from a dog get a pair of tweezers and put them aroun the tick close to the skin and pull, however do not twist or pull too fast as this may leave the head inside and lead to infection, or yo can get anti-tick spray.
from what I know, if you leave a tick head in the body of a human it can cause illnesses that ticks carry, therefore try to remove a ticks head as soon as possible.
You can use a tool that is specific to remove tick in any animal store, also there are shampoos for dogs that help get rid of the tick and collars that prevent ticks.
I really don't think so, but it can cause infection and disease. When removing ticks from your dog, be sure to remove the entire tick, including its head and mouth. Then clean the area with peroxide or use an antibiotic cream on the bite spot.
yes. But it also depends on what type of tick they get, the dogs age and how strong their immune system is. No, many dogs have ticks, just tell parents to remove them ;) Or just buy special tick collar - is it available in your country ? My dog also had immunization against fleas and ticks. ~Maite
Using tweezers remove the tick by grabbing the tick's head or mouth with the tweezers and pulling outwards gently. Place the tick's body in a jar. Wash the area of skin bitten by the tick with warm water and regular soap. If symptoms of rash, fever, swollen lymph glands and muscle aches appear go to the doctor and bring the tick.
As with any tick on any organism, you must remove the head in order for it to not affect you, but if you use a tick repellant, no because the tick is already there, if you kill it or take the head out, then yes.
yes they can and you treat it by drowning the tick (make sure the snakes head is above water or you remove the tick using tweezers
