Snip the burnt area with scissors (just the fibers). Find an area of rug (under a couch or better, in a dark corner)trim an area about the size of the burn and glue the unburned fibers with a household glue to the cleaned burned area. Actually, cut out from your closet a small piece of carpet & pad, get a carpet floor ahdesive from your nearest Home Depot. Use small spatula appy glue on floor,on pad, and set carpet on top it.

You didn't say if it was on a carpet or on a table. Carpet: You are going to have to get a pro in. They will cut a little carpet from another area of your carpet (perhaps behind a sofa) and you really can't tell where the cigarette burn was. I had a party at my home some years back and someone burned my carpet (I was not happy about it) and the person I got in to fix it did a wonderful job. Tables: If you think you can handle it and the burn isn't too deep then you can "soft sand" with FINE GRIT SAND PAPER and then you are going to have restain your table. You can also get some help from a good hardware store that sells these stains and tell them your problem.

Scars are hard to remove. The most you can do is to trade them for a less visible one. If you're white and the scar is reddish-pink, then it will fade over time. If you're black and get a pinkish scar you could try tattoing over it to get it closer to skin tone.

One problem many smokers have to deal with is discovering unsightly cigarette burns on fabric. You may discover these burns on your favorite shirt, your car’s upholstery, or your carpet. However, with a little bit of work, repairing these kinds of burns is possible. Here are a few simple steps you can use to remove cigarette burns from almost any kind of fabric.

First, you need to figure out what kind of cigarette burn is on your fabric. There are generally two types of cigarette burns. These are surface burns and deep burns. Surface burns occur when the cigarette only scorches the surface of the fabric. A deep burn, however, produces a hole in the fabric with edges around that hole that have melted.

Next, get your vacuum cleaners. Take the vacuum and run the suction all around the burned area. Whether it is a surface burn or a deep burn, it will help remove some of the char and any loose pieces of fabric around the burn. Cleaning it like this will make performing the repairs much easier.

Now you will need to make a cleaning solution for the cigarette burn. The ingredients you will need for the solution are one tablespoon of semi-clear dish washing liquid and one cup of water. Make sure the dishwashing liquid doesn’t contain any alkalis or bleach. You should also use pretty warm water. To make the solution, simply mix these two ingredients together.

Take the mixture and use a cloth of some kind to blot the cigarette burn with the cleaning solution. Do not rub the solution in. This can actually make the burn worse by making it deeper embedded in that part of the fabric. Keep doing this until the affected area appears clean and the cigarette burn vanishes.

If it is a deep burn, you’re going to have to do a little bit more work. Take a pair of scissors and use them to remove the burnt pieces of the fabric that are around the hole. Next, visit a fabric or carpet store and look for a piece of fabric you can use as a replacement. Cut out a patch from the closest match you can find and sew the patch onto the fabric. You are now finished.

No, you changed the chemical makeup irreparably. The best thing I've found is to cut it out if possible.

It depends on what the headliner is made out of. If it is cloth, you might be able to cut out the burn and put a tight stitch there. It won't look perfect, but it might look better. If it is vinyl, you could get a vinyl repair kit.
