In order to graduate from at least a public high school which I attended, you needed a certain amount of credits in order to graduate. You gain such credits over the course of the four years, with the credits earned previously being carried over to the next year. Within the credits there are certain prequisites you have to fulfill in order to graduate. For example, in order to graduate you need 10 P.E. credits. Credits are usually done by semester or quarter, where if it's a quarter basis, you'll need more quarter credits than you do semester credits but it's all pretty much the same. Anyway, say the prequisite is 10 P.E. credits, within the 4 years during the course of study, you have to take at least 2 P.E. classes with at least a 'D'or better, although some high schools will not credit with a 'D' grade anymore, so shoot for that 'C' at the very least. Should you fail to complete any prequisites during your 4 yeat study, you'll be forced to take or retake any courses you missed. And if all that wasn't bad enough, most high schools will make you take an exit exam (thank god I didn't have to). The exit exam is a comprehensive test which will test you on basically everything in high school. Fail this test and you will have to take the test again when required, and you can't graduate until you passeven with all prequisites met.
generally no. there may be some exceptions in some high schools but the majority no. its considered cheating academically and wouldn't look good when applying for colleges
