Nice easy one. At Gare del'Est, down the steps to the metro station. Buy tickets (un ticket, s'il vous plait). Metro line 4, direction Porte d'Orléans. 12th stop is Montparnasse-Bienvenue. There is a moving pavement which leads from the metro station to the train station.
Not as easy as you might think. I can remember arriving exhausted at a friend's house in Gennevilliers, but I couldn't remember why.
Frome Gare de l'Est, take metro line 7 (Direction Villejuif-Louis Aragon) to Opera. Change to line 3 (Direction Pont de Levallois-Bécon) and go to PEREIRE, where you can catch the RER line C to Gennevilliers.
Alternatively (it takes a little longer, but it's less hassle, especially with luggage) catch a 56 bus from Gare de l'Est to Porte de Clignancourt, then a 166 to Gennevilliers.
Tu est montre un train a station 6 et descendu le station a poulet. You use subway (métro) line 4, which runs between the two.
There is a direct line on the metro: Line 4, direction Porte d'Orléans, to Montparnasse-Bienvenue.
