Even though H. pylori is present in more than half the population of the world, no one is sure how people get it and pass it to other people. The latest data suggest that it is spread through oral/fecal contamination, through unclean water, and from crowded living condition.

Can you eat boiled egg if you have hpylori?

H. Pylori is the bacteria associated with the development of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum. There is an antibiotic cocktail given to get rid of it. Food is generally not a factor in ulcers in spite of what was common practice in past years--"ulcer diets", etc.

Why my stomach aches whenever I eat?

It could be two different things from my knowledge (and personal experience). First I might suggest you suffer from Irritable bowel syndrome, which can cause that, and second could be H.Pylori, the bacteria that can cause ulcers. - or you have GERD, or maybe even Barretts Esophagous. I never had GERD...but sadly i have Barretts..:-\...sad as it maybe...i'll help you along the way being a nurse and all.. Just ask a doctor to run a HPylori blood test on you..it's simple and painless...much better than going through all the upper GI series, catscans, medications. If it's HPylori, all you need is a course of anti-biotics and it's gone! I've had HPylori, (very painful..and it only gets worse)..there are many theories about how you get it..doesn't really matter in the long run..you just want it gone. Keep in mind that even after you are treated for HPylori, it may take weeks or a month to get your stomach enzymes working normally again..but it will improve after anti-biotics. There are specific anti-biotics you have to take for this ailment..don't try to take other anti-biotics you may have at home, it won't work. If you're into natural health instead of anti-biotics you could visit a health store and ask for suggestions. I would think colloidal silver would be effective. Have also heard something called mastic gum works. Even after anti-biotics, don't assume you've gotten rid of the H Pylori just because the pain is gone..it's a tough bacteria to kill, get one more blood test to be sure. Here's some info on H Pylori: "Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria. Researchers believe that H. pylori is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers. H. pylori infection is common in the United States. About 20 percent of people under 40 years old and half of those over 60 years have it. Most infected people, however, do not develop ulcers. Why H. pylori does not cause ulcers in every infected person is not known. Most likely, infection depends on characteristics of the infected person, the type of H. pylori, and other factors yet to be discovered. Researchers are not certain how people contract H. pylori, but they think it may be through food or water. Researchers have found H. pylori in the saliva of some infected people, so the bacteria may also spread through mouth-to-mouth contact such as kissing."

How do you stop a stomach ulcer?

Depending on the ulcer, you can prescribe medicine to lower the stomach contents' acidity, thus allowing the ulcer to heal. You can also treat the cause of the ulcer (which can be quite varied). The effectiveness of this approach depends a lot on the severity of the ulcer.

What is the triple therapy for helicobacter pylori?

The preferred treatment for helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is triple therapy for two weeks withmetronidazole (250mg, three times daily)a bismuth compound, which prevents degradation of the mucous layer bismuth subsalicylate - Pepto-Bismol available in the US (2 tablets, four times a day)available as colloidal bismuth subcitrate (De-Nol) elsewhere (120 mg, four times daily)either tetracycline (500 mg, four times daily) or amoxicillin (500 mg, three times daily)This triple therapy produces eradication of H. pylori in about 90% of patients. Sometimes, the triple therapy is added to an antisecretory medication (H2 receptor antagonist or almost always, a proton pump inhibitor) which may be used for up to 6 months or prophylactically. Lastly, a urea breath test is used to insure completion of a successful therapy.
