Best Answer

* Allow Gelatin to set until completely firm, several hours or overnight.

* Before unmolding, dip knife in warm water and run knife around edge of gelatin to loosen.

* Dip mold in warm water, just to rim, for 10 seconds.

* Lift from water and gently pull gelatin from edge of mold with moist fingers. Place moistened serving plate on top of mold. Gently remove mold.

After the Frozen Yogurt is very hard, if you ran a bit of hot water on the mold, the frozen yogurt should come out. But this is a rather delicate operation. You would have to be careful not to run too much hot water on the mold, and you would have to unmold it onto a plate or something before it refroze (like 3 seconds??) I've never done this before. Good luck.

You can make it easier to get gelatin out of a mold by coating the mold with a very thin layer of vegetable oil before pouring in the liquid gelatin. You can also put the mold briefly in lukewarm water to loosen the gelatin from the mold.

Is grey mold on top of crab-apple jelly harmful?

When I was a kid (a long, long time ago), my mother would scrape off the mold and serve the jelly. I'm 58, so you know it didn't kill me. However, the modern advice is anything that was canned should be thrown away when there is mold, loss of color, cloudy liquid (as in pickles), or loss of a thick consistency in jams and jellies. Today, I throw away any jam or jelly with mold.

Does jelly spoil in the heat?

Jelly can spoil. It can grow mold. If it does, throw it out. If it hasn't been processed or sealed properly or the sugar content is low, it can ferment. Throw out fermented jelly, too. The best way to store unopened jelly is in a cool, dark, dry area. After opening, store it in the refrigerator.
