Oy. Darling, the truth is, you don't. Most likely that man will be in your life forever, or at least until the children are 18. My advice to you would be not to do anything stupid such as go sleep with another man, get drunk and tell him everything about how you feel and what you miss, or date his best friend. It's time for big girl panties. What this means is that there are smarter and more effective ways to move on. Don't burn anything. Don't light his name in fire under his window. Go get yourself a new hair style you look fabulous in, buy an outfit, new shoes, something small for yourself. This will improve your confidence and show him that you can do BETTER without him. Use this time to spend with your kids and become the Mommy they need at this point. Without knowing further details of the relationship and breakup, I would say that right now your kid(s) need to see that bad things happen in life but you can still pick yourself up by the boot straps and move on.
