Why does an air bubble rise to the surface of a glass water?

The deeper you go under water the higher the pressure due to the weight of water above. Therefore the pressure of the water at the level of the bottom of the bubble is higher than the pressure at the level of the top of the bubble. The unbalanced force forces the bubble up. In all mixtures of (non-reacting) fluids and gases, the higher the density of a component, the lower it lies. Anything that has a density less than 1g/cm cubed (water density) floats but if it has a higher density than water then it sinks.

Which one of benjerman Franklins inventions protected us from lightning?

The kite and rod was his demonstration. In modern terms it is a lightning conductor or a lightning arrester. This is usually a metal (copper, or iron) rod placed at the very top of tall buildings, church steeples, tall industrial chimneys.

Why do some spirit levels have one vial of spirit above another?

Each vial has a slight curve. When level the bubble will seek the apex of the curve. The other vial in the same window is so you can use the level on opposite side; otherwise levels would have to have a bottom and a top. Also a good way to check the accuracy of your level. Should read exactly the same on either side.

Why does an air bubble rise to the surface of a glass of warter?

When water is boiled, the heat energy is transferred to the molecules of water, which begin to move more quickly. Eventually, the molecules have too much energy to stay connected as a liquid. When this occurs, they form gaseous molecules of water vapor, which float to the surface as bubbles and travel into the air.

Why does top not fall during spinning?

A spinning top has a gyroscopic effect that is resistant to changing its axis (falling over). The faster the top, the stronger the gyroscopic effect. As the top begins to slow due to friction, the gyroscopic effect weakens and the top begins to fall.
