Pigeons can be repelled by:
- Hanging a shiny pinwheel or CD's on the porch to scare them.
- Setting up a bird feeder away from the porch to redirect them.
- Screening in your porch.
- Putting pigeon spikes or wire on perching spots.
- Put up an owl box: The pigeons will fear the owl if one moves in.
- An audio player that plays a hawk noise on a regular loop: This can be very annoying.
- Leaving out a fake owl or snake for a while, moving it daily. The pigeons will remember the threat and stay away.

∙ 16y agoTo rid pigeons in your attic, you/someone needs to remove them and then board up the locations where they are getting into the attic. Since pigeons can't see well in the dark, it would be easiest to catch them when the attic is mostly dark inside. Pigeons can't bite (not like a parrot can), but they can slap with their wings, so don't be afraid to catch them.

* Put spikes on the surface where they are sitting; often these spikes are actually just plastic or rubber.
* Put a few rubber snakes - the toy kinds that look real - around where the pigeons hang out.
