How do you remove scratches from LCD screen?

Some suggest rubbing it with toothpaste and a piece of clean cotton but it could be a bad idea. A cracked or broken LCD displayis not repairable and requires a new LCD screen to be replaced. You can replace the screen yourself (it is surprisingly easy to replace even if you are not a technical person). Many portable electronic devices have coatings on them, such as anti-scratch and anti-glare. The best way to repair them is to fill in and build up the scratches, layer-by-layer; using a repair kit that addresses coated plastics. Since coatings refract light differently (tint), results will be determined by the depth and width of the scratch and tint of the coating. Scratch Pro has a deep scratch repair system, but it also has a scratch filler, which fills in and protects against light abrasions/fuzzy marks. You can also do a search online using the plus symbol in front of fix and scratch and then add the item you want to fix. For example: +fix +scratch (item to be fixed). Or +LCD +scratch +repair etc.

i think you can buy some special sprays to get rid of them I'm not completley sure though somtimes it comes off with suliva.

Also I heard that someone tried CD scratch remover but it made the screen worse. Every LCD panel has a coating on top of the actual screen, this is what is scratched. It can not be repaired. However, the LCD screen in a laptop is easy to remove and replace. You may learn from some on-line guide how to do this.

I've had success using toothpaste [preferably with whitening] + a cotton swab. Slightly dampen the tip of the swab, and put a smidge of toothpaste on the top. Work that into the LCD screen [like you'd buff a car] preferably in a circular motion [and make sure you press down slightly whilst doing so] and let it idle for a minute. Dampen the other end of the swab with water and use that to remove the toothpaste. I'm sure you get the jidst of what I'm trying to say..just make sure you don't do anything in excess.

This method worked wonders on a scratched mc12elk remote I used to employ a year back. Honest.

You don't have to dampen the cotton swab too much, anyways. The main bit is to make sure that you work that toothpaste in, and even if some gets in the crack between the LCD + the unit it's easy to get out and doesn't affect the paint. End result is usually a clean LCD and a minty unit!

Some scratches [thinking severe] cannot be removed with the toothpaste method, no matter how many coats you apply. It can lessen the obtrusive appearance, though..

It stunned me at first how I transformed a slightly scratched MC12ELK to super-mint [haw haw :rasp:] condition with this method. If you have a heavy scratch, you may want to consider another coat of 'paste to see what occurs.

Buy a new screen from you mobile provider (At&A, Verizon, ext..), or just buy a new phone, some of the scratches might be to deep to get off. I have reachered alot about this stuff, because, i hate minor scratches(annoing), and if you put toothpast, carwax, fingernail polish, ext. and even most of the products you buy at your local store, probley wont work or will make the problem worse.

if you have a store up close called FRED MEYERS then you have your problem solved.there are these liquids that are for removing crayons,nail polish,and other stuff,like scratches on a screen

You can get protective stuff to put over most screens but once they're scratched they're pretty difficult (if not impossible) to remove.
